The Tigers are weak. They will always be the rabble we know and love who were in the wilderness with us for 40 years. I don't care what anyone says.

I don't rate any of their three flags especially last years Covid circus flag.

I don't rate their 2017 flag either where they beat a rubbish robotic Adelaide team.

And I don't rate their 2019 flag where they beat the fake soulless GWS with all of their 11 fans cheering them on.

I don't rate Richmond.  Never have and never will.  Hardwick is the 2nd worst premiership coach ever (2nd only to Chris Scott).

Lets end their fake little dynasty and make them 'The Tigers of old' again.

You must spend a fortune on hallucinogens.

I just dont get Melk and Fritta together.

Its too short.

Yea ..Fritta if fit is a lock.

Not only are we too short but Melk has played 2 games this year.

One poor and one just above average.

Wied and Bbb with ten goals are not rewarded.

I just dont get the Jake love.

I hear ya LITB and I agree to some extent.  But Melk isnt keeping Brown/Weed out.  LJ and T Mac are and they are performing very well. If we go LJ, T Mac plus another tall, I reckon we think the tiges will run us off our feet

I was looking at some stats and although Luke Jackson is doing a great job in the ruck as a ff has kicked one goal for five games.

Is this accurate and is it enough?

He is getting the ball to ground and helping Max win games but at this rate will be lucky to kick five goals for the year if he plays a full season.

Needs to hit the scoreboard a lot more.

His two handed tap to Trac for a goal was sublime.  Whilst he does this work of contesting and being a linking midfield type as well as chopping out max, he is worth his weight in gold.  LJ is not judged on goals, but he will get a bag at some point soon.

So, a few of my takes are:

The claws out for Melksham this week are pretty harsh.  Bloke kicked 2.5 pretty good goals and setup the game turning Max bomb last week.  Yes that's similar to M.Brown, but Milkshake has a bigger upside and is better embedded in the side;

I have a bit of a set against melk as a result of my frustration and disappointment with his attitude and lack of leadership last year.

But you're right. He was pretty good.

His kicking is elite. His kick to jones in the corridor (bad miss by Jones, but he looked a bit proppy), the one to max and the brilliant kick to tracc that set up the tmac goal in the square all showed that.

And the goal he kicked at the punt road end on his left after the give from tracc was first cladd

Kicking is our major weakness. He really needs to be in the side.

I just hope he brings the forward pressure each week. He was just ok in that area against the hawks. As a seasoned veteran he needs to put his body on the line more.

Is it a case of the selection panel rating Richmond’s ability to defend tall forwards better than defending a small forwards? I like the selection. Bring in BB and/or Weid next week when we can afford to experiment

Possibly or back to my conspiracy theory that Goody is holding a card up his sleeve.

I appreciate the sentiment. I was pondering this the other day when thinking about who Richmond have beaten in each of their flags and none of them seemed like hardened finals campaigners or former champions. But I supposed that’s just the way it is when you are at the top of the pile. Certainly the Dogs flag in 2016 seemed more meritorious given they had to go via Perth and beat the previous champions just to get to the prelim.

He needs to tackle more instead of doing that half bump half tackle thing he has got in a habit of.

His skills are great and make us a better team , he just needs a basic re-set on defensive effort

IN MY VIEW  Fritsch will be a late scratch and Weid will play.

I agree, I doubt he’s really ready, training would have had an impact on recovery

May’s speedy recovery and brave return to the field of battle, after  what initially appeared to be a horrendous injury. Shows he is (or has) a tough ‘mug’ with gritty determination to boot. Ditto Bayley Fritsch. After a belated viewing of the Casey v Box Hill VFL match. Where a number of contenders for AFL spots displayed their impressive credentials. TC are spruiking Kade Chandler after his performance as the one to watch. Definitely short listed here for team selection when an opportunity arises.

Sydney smoked the Tigers with only just one key forward (Reid). Medium and small forwards are the key

Good point. Heeney and Paps destoyed them.

Great that we have a third version of the actual word rapt.  I was getting bored with wrapped.

In my defence, I did point out the “drunk” bit.

Some of us are having a Friday night, Teach.

I am not surprised that Weid and BBB didn’t get a gig this week. I watched the game against Box Hill and thought BBB looked rusty and the Weid got a few softies. Win or lose this week, we should get a bucketload of ”learnings”, with a pretty soft draw to follow to ease the big boys back into the side. No flags awarded in April to my knowledge.

How good is that back 6 with May back in, how good is it I say.. and thats with Hibbo on the pine too.

Great mixture of intercept marking and ability to line break. Even though he struggled at times last week, Rivers is usually an excellent decision maker to go with Salem and May's kicking. There's great balance back there.

The forwardline looks pretty balanced to me too. It's all about work rate, bringing the tackle pressure and nailing our chances when they come. Do that and we're a chance.

My lord, we slate opposition supporters but we are blessed with some absolute gob****es of our own on here.

3 out of 4 flags not rated

Lets drop a club stalwart and list favourite for his 300th

Not to mention the basic lack of understanding team set ups and structures

Demonland is very much comic genius

Thrilled with the selections. past MFC teams would have made wholesale changes, jumped on bringing the big guns in and upset the balance.

we've opted for 2 genuine upgrades and bought in 2 absolute guns. bring on the Tigers. they'll be bloody hard to beat on the big stage, but i think we're a bloody good side this year, so game on.

as other have mentioned. so happy for T'Mac. he's playing his role perfectly and i can't help but feel like a bag is coming. he's getting his hands to a lot and just not quite clunking them, but i reckon it's coming. same with Jackson.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
