Earlier in the match a Jee-long player was tackled ... not 360 degrees, but round twice so it was 720 degrees. Play on ....

So if Brisbane had have played like a 'Supposed' top 4 team there is no way they would have trailed by 3 or 4 goals for most of the game

Therefore, they wouldn't have been playing catch up and are probably in front by a winning margin close to siren time in the last quarter

The Cats weren't much better but they really didn't have a lot of opposition in the first half

The above describes how the game was won and lost in a general sense

I haven't seen one person here praise the Lions first half but plenty of lambasted their efforts

Control what you can control otherwise you're asking for trouble

Neither team are a flag threat and if we can't beat both sides we're not much chop either

I can't stand Geelong.

I hope they don't get near it this year. Their players are getting on and if this year they can't make it to the GF they'll be in some trouble.

Anyways, what was most painful to watch was Smith gliding up and down the wing and then of course the sealer.

I could just picture him doing that for us...

The joys of supporting the Dees hey :)

Bingers, you’ve got it half right -you are right about the 720 degrees but THEN  he handed - not hand balled- the ball to Selwood: goal.

Quite right. I forgot about that. Who was it? Guthrie?

Plan what Wyl?

We get told what to do because we're an insignificant club in the eyes of the AFL

1 finals appearance in 14 years with a mostly chequered history prior to that isn't going to win any favours

The club only has itself to blame whilst us downtrodden and success-starved members & supporters have to cop it in the eye (we're mere spectators when you boil it all down)

But the natives are restless this time around ... if we don't perform there will be major changes in my view.  The patience is running thin

We need to turn up every week with no exceptions ... do that and the wheel will turn from the AFL's point of view (albeit slowly)

AFL has conceded it should have been a free to Bailey in the goal square.

Hope karma comes back and bites Geelong in the backside.

The AFL have a two way connection with the Umpires. That decision needed rectification. The AFL is responsible for not implementing this change in an UNMITIGATED DISASTER that could change the season.

As for the decision not being clear to UMPIRES that were very very close, those two collectively should not umpire again, along with the appropriate suspension of payments,  until they improve to the extent where they receive from an unbiased group of neutral officials that they can carry out their duties effectively.

What an absolute joke. 3 umpires out there and nobody saw it? The most blatant HTB of all time.
even the dog in the ARC would have called that free

Princes Highway Robbery!!!

So four points given to Brisbane?

Too gutless to pay the free to Brisbane in front of their goals whilst playing Geelong in Geelong in the dying minutes. There’s no other explanation.

Jeelong have been cheating down there for years, if you are happy to concede that, i can’t help you.
Brisvegas were robbed last night blatantly in front of the Umpires and nothing was done.
Even the AFL have said so today

Result should be reversed

What if Bailey then missed the goal? Anyone's crystal ball able to see if he got it or not?

Lousy umpiring game after game week in week out. One bad decision should not be the catalyst for reform, but if that's what it takes, great.

Meanwhile Geel & Bris can both rot. GO DEMONS!!

Gulden looks a real player for the swans.  Another academy pick.

You're dreaming again Wyl (like I've always said, it's ok to dream but it's not ok to be a dreamer)

And I'm not conceding anything ... perhaps I just have a different outlook than those baying for blood over a few questionable decisions.

And perhaps you could stand apart from the mob occasionally instead of taking the safe option of going along with the crowd (I won't hold my breath)

I'm also a big picture person ... we will be sent down to Geelong as long as we're viewed as an insignificant club

And Brisbane robbed themselves by not turning up in the first half ... one could argue that the pretender Lions got what they deserved (they certainly didn't deserve to win)

You're letting your anti Geelong bias get in the way of an intelligent discussion.

SWYL .... you are one of my favourite posters.

But I presume you're kidding about wanting the result to be reversed.

And don’t forget Braeden Campbell, just about best on today, and another straight out of the academy.

Should be reversed (but it won’t)

What are you talking about Macca?

With 20 Seconds to go it was 2 points the difference, that is reality, not Mob Rule

In the Goalsquare there were 2 BLATANT decisions against Jeelong

1. Holding the Ball

2. Incorrect Disposal

Neither were paid, and it cost a team the game.
Disgraceful.
What Brisvegas did or didn’t do in the first half is completely irrelevant

They did the same back in r23 of what I think was 2014 or 15 when Bris needed a win to make the 8 v geel. Dying seconds, ball in dispute... Chapman dives onto it and the ump calls a ball up instantly.

Edit: 2013. @7m20s

Strange that we didn’t bid

Adelaide and Sydney has been a good match.  Have really enjoyed the style of football this season.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
