How about supporting the club?? Access to finals tickets?? There's plenty of reasons.

If you don't have a membership  by now chances you   are not that keen. That is all I am saying. After 50k you are appealing to supporters who are not that commited like us die hards. Get it?

Well we had 53k a couple of years ago so surely theres still some who would be keen. Are you saying we won't sign up any new members from now on?

No I am saying on the upside of 50 it gets tougher especially in a year like 2021 and now the  potential for no Vic games.

So, that was in May still. Per my earlier post, we passed 50k during May in the record year, so we're maybe still a little behind but let's see what happens on the last day in May on Monday after Friday night! Final membership numbers in the record year were as reported by the AFL in August so there's some time yet and let's see what a few more wins, and an increasing certainty of 'going deep into September' do ?

Access to a (potential) GF ticket must be the incentive to boost membership.

Anyone else had trouble from overseas purchasing membership through ticketek? Am getting really bored with the non working links, was about to drop a bundle of cash on upgrades that I will never use as well.

Can I ask why you are buying a membership now when you are not in Australia?

Supporting the club - I have been a paid up member (plus family memberships) for 28 of the last 30 years, I have continued being a member even though in the last 15 years I have only had the chance to attend 3 games. I wish to make sure that I can attend the Grand Final if we make it. I was unable to garner any help from the ticketek website. Sadly I have let my MCC membership lapse as well I didn't see myself retiring in Australia, and might realistically use it 10 times in the next 20 years (I should live so long). All though it does sting.

With all due respect old dee, a lack of commitment is not the only thing that may be what’s stopping a person from signing up for membership. There may be a lack, but of something other than commitment.

The website is shizen and it's Ticketmasters fault, not the club's. Best bet is to call (if you can) next best option would be an email but I emailed an enquiry about purchasing a GF guarantee for my son a few weeks back and had no response so just called up and got it sorted over the phone

Thanks, yes phone I guess. Was Ticketek the same crew that did tickets for the Metro

OK given the slower rate of the membership pipeline this year that means that we have almost certainly clicked over 50,000 paid up members. That is a great result given the conditions in Victoria, still we need to beat our 2018 total given our Fab start to 2021, no excuses.!!!!!!!!!!

G o Dee’s...!!!!????

Mate my 20 year membership certificate is signed by Mark Neeld. It could be worse.

Not sure who signed mine, actually threw it out the other day as part of a the yearly purge. Could have been Neeld.

Wow thanks GOTO by tomorrow night when we run out onto Giants Stadium there is the probability we will have passed 50,000 members for the second time in history.

Perty last week predicted we would break our membership record this year ( have until July31 ) and again  he appears to read the tea leaves well.

It has not been easy in 2021 as Covid conditions in ticketing and public acceptance have cut deep IMO on our Melb home crowds by about 20% I estimate.

This is despite a 66 year record of 9 wins in a row and unlevelled hopes of the solidarity and substance of our football in the first half of 2021.

This does not appear to be a false dawn for this year next year or maybe 4/5 years as I can never ever remember talk of 6,7,8 or even 9 players in discussions about All Australian team recognition.

And the oldest is Maxy with a host of mid and young 20 year olds genuinely reaching for that AA star.

Naturally  with a coaching setup in 2021 featuring Choco Ooze Stafford and Chappy with Goody  in his fifth season overseeing it all this talent plus the role players and developing stars I have got to say it's no wonder a very fine team ethos has developed which gives us goals per game along with the elite pressure we bring each round.

The fitness levels created by Burgo must not be underestimated also as we genuinely look fresher than our opponents in the second half of games.

I think that there will be a few Demon fans left ruing not signing up and risking not being there when it matters in September for something that us old Baby  Boomers can only remember part of some of the days of our Glory years (1955 to 1964) .

Dont miss out Dees fans it won't be easy to snatch a ticket We don't even know whether the G will be at full capacity on those September days!!

I have my GF guarantee membership but taking nothing for granted as our journey no matter what happens in the next 120 days looks far more promising than getting overseas for my next big trip for at least 2/3 years.

I am tearing up already and can hardly see my "I phone" just thinking of what might be in store for the mighty Dees in 2021 and the future.

Its going to be either a Grand Old Flag still or even better a brand new bloody beautiful Grand New Flag to tear up 57 or more years of pent up emotion in buckets in these ever challenging Covid times.

Please don't you miss out !!!

Oh and instead of storing up bulk on toilet paper a far more necessary item might for the next half decade be boxes and boxes of tissues for the inevitable reaction each success will undoubtedly bring!

Great result! Just a pity our success is coming in Covid a affected year(s). No immigration means no new supporters jumping on the bandwagon. Also means lower membership numbers too and ground attendances. All affect the bottom line when we should be booming.

But, let's hope this winning streak goes on for many years!

There us no doubt that Covid has knocked off between 5/8,000 members and consequently a similar amount from our match day attendances.

ITS NOT TOO LATE TO GET TO THE "G" WHEN CROWDS GO BACK.

Most of these absentees will want Finals  tickets in September to attend and hopefully 100% safe Covid Plan will be in operation.

We will ( as Perty said last week) break our all time record this year of 52,000 odd before July 31 close of totals.

Are you or your friends still among the absentees or are you still a doubting Thomas??

Act while the iron is hot!!
