Really loving ANB game. His work rate is first class.

Good play by Hunt to Chandler and tough mark to Anb.

Goal. We're in front.

Not having a full strength team will hold us in good stead going forward. In previous seasons (correct me if I'm wrong) we've fielded almost full strength sides from the get - go.

Hahahaha

At work and popped onto the game day thread for an update- honestly thought we must be 10 goals down.

It’s not a Melbourne game without a Bruce goal ?

We put some actual players in the center and suddenly we aren’t the worst. What a shock.

Nice push by the fat spud in Josh Bruce

Tbh early on we should have been. They have hit the post 4 times. We had just kicked 3 in a row.

Reverse the teams - free every time.

Geez, Hunt standing 5 metres off Bont who takes a handball and kicks into f50 for a mark and goal again.

Bruce legitimately thanked the umpire after he kicked the goal.

I cant believe that G.Lyon was invited to speak at a MFC supporters night. he is the most negative pr!!k going.

And Rivers kick is deliberate but that [censored] against Spargo was not. Good to see the umpires still sucks.

Of course deliberate.

Thank God for Lever and May.

With players like Jones and Tmac still around its a worry.

Not sure what Tomlison brings and poor Jetta seems a shadow of the champion he was.

Harmes needs to step up in the absence of others but has not been great. ANB likewise.

Jetta is another. A fine servant who should have retired at the end of last Season

they are outplaying us, dogs should be a mile in front. Good taste of footy for the kids

We are definitely playing boys against men. The Dogs are an excellent team. They are some genuine stars. Our defense has stood up well, but our midfield has struggled and the less said about our forwards the better. Fritsch and ANB the only two who should play round 1. TMac somehow has done less than usual.

Happy with that quarter and the effort was much better.

For a club like ours to be quite depleted as we are, we certainly are putting I some good work.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
