Two pw frees to the bulldogs up forward for a point then a goal.

They're up by 8.

Jetta back on.

It’s no surprise we are struggling to get our hands on it with so many of our best mids out.

We are being run over. They are front and Centre, have better skills and are killing us around clearances. I know we are playing plenty of young ones.

if the plan is to score forward half goals, someone hasn’t read the script. No ball retention in the forward half.

Wow we got a free.

Fritsch kicks straight. good lad.

WOW after 10minutes of footy, great supporter....not

Not even watching the game.

I admire Vanders and loved the intensity and aggression he brought when the club needed it 6-7 years ago, but he hasn’t impacted a game of footy for over 3 years now and is 29 years old. Couldn’t be an easier list decision than to delist him IMO.

Worrying signs around the packs, they always seem to have a free player on their backside that means a clean free run forward.

Free to Frtsch directly in front 20m out.

Goal!

3 points down.

Seems to be a set play to kick to Gawn on the wings with a second tall in behind. Gawn overruns and Tmac or Jackson take the uncontested mark.

Gawn down for a second and I feel vomit coming on. Please take him off. It’s not worth the risk!

The plus side is that we appear to have a functional defence.

Nobody nailing down their round one spot so far.

Outplayed, but not punished on the scoreboard.

Looked better the last few minutes of the quarter.

we've had less than half as many possessions and trail by 3 points

With no midfield. We are lucky they haven’t scored with their opportunities. On the other hand we have done fairly well with limited ones.

thank god for may and lever..backline looks very good

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
