My feeling on it was club knew about the swelling from the get go. They are a professional spring club, anyone that thinks they knew nothing about it or didn't get all the information need to get their heads checked.

Club knew he had it last year, instead of sending him in for surgery he possibility may not of needed, as it could have healed naturally over the break, they tested it. Got him training and started ramping it up, oh look it's happen again let's send him to our knee specialist and get best course of action.

But I guess in doing that, the professional sporting club, that have numerous people with all sorts of degrees, don't know anything they are doing.blockquote widgetlockquote widget

WFA No training didn't start till JAN 5/6

You are assuming OLD times 2020 went a month longer and only 4 years and under ( and any others that wanted to) started in late 2020 and Browny acc. To reports was not on the track till Jan.

So your argument time wise sort of breaks down.

Yes it's not ideal but this injury seems reliably and professionally approached with a sensible as possible outcome.

Will also be a good test for Tommy Mac Jacko and Weid early on.

Now all the forwards know the Heat is on and serious competition will be the norm from now on!

Hi 58er agree with you assessments, I am by no means an expert, don't claim to be, i also don't usually comment on injurys of this nature.

Ben is a new player to the club with an existing injury, it's why I'm so intrigued as to his progress.

So i see Ben didn't start with the 1-4 year players in December, my bad. I reckon i heard Adam Ramsnauskas on SEN saying Ben had been training from November onwards. Should have double checked this information.

I stand corrected 58er.

Wouldn't it be Norf responsibility to get Ben the best possible Medical advice on his knee while he was still contracted to them?

Or was the relationship between the club and player that strained that Ben or Club didn't follow up with the correct procedures.

Would be interesting to find out.

Tmac will have a ripping year.

Possibly the players were given their own programs to do by Burgo for the Jan start WFA so in part we are both correct but reckon he was in Tas home doing his private prep so no CluB contact available to Big Ben then.
Let's hope comes back as the real McCoy with 50 goals this season.

hopefully the club stops coughing up first round picks but I'm not as negative as others. It just means that Tom McDonald must get back to 2018 form.  If he does, we will do well, if not... it's another 9-12 season with no improvement. unless we sack Goodwin early.

Ben Brown has a sore knee and therefore we need to look at axing Goodwin if TMac doesn’t kick a million goals. FMD! Do you ever read what rubbish you write before you hit send?

I'm pretty sure it will all be Burgos fault entirely.

On a brighter note Ben Brown is the father of a new baby girl. I saw the announcement on Instagram and, after congratulating the new parents,  made a plea that he doesn't sit her on his knee for the next few weeks.

He timed that perfectly.

Lucky we didn't trade Tommy Mac is all I'll say.

Defenders will be licking their lips now seeing McDonald as your main key forward.

Said this before pre Brown and Weideman injury that I felt we still lacked depth in our forward department and was amazed we had not invited a Jackson Callow or Kaine Baldwin as a train on instead of Kobe Farmer and Deakyn Smith. Two big strong key forwards who are physically ready to go.

Callow invited to train with Hawthorn as of last week.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
