Here’s a name that I’m sure will get drafted and will be a consistent AFL player.  A late bargain draft pick or a rookie pick

20 year old Rhyan Mansell moved to the SANFL to the Eagles (Woodville West Torrens) in 2020. He had played as a youngster 17,18,19 for Nth Launceston in 3 premierships.

In 2020 for the Eagles, he showed he is a fierce competitor, driven to win the footy. His tackling is AFL standard.  He has good pace. Run and carry. His kicking and skills are excellent. He hits targets. He is a good mark. He has 2nd efforts.  In the SANFL Grand Final, he was a key part with 19 possessions, 8 marks.  He has played across half back to use his pace and skills. I see his determination like Trent Rivers.  They have the “Will” to compete.

JT should have his name on one of those yellow sticky notes.

Unlikely to get drafted. Good type of mid but behind quite a few other youngsters.  Should progress to SANFL next year.  Lachie McNeil is one I would also see as a chance though list spots are tight.

I don't like his name. But if he can play then sign him up

I presume you meant the first name, not the second?

If the second, not Nigel, I  presume. It certainly is an 'active' one much more locally, where Rhyan hails from! Any relation? And another Indigenous lad therefore?

Yes he’s an indigenous youngster. Played alongside Tarryn Thomas from the Kangas. And yes hopefully Jay Lockhart can vouch for his ability.

Lachie's dad was drafted by Melbourne and would have been a gun had he not got injured and or come over.  Pretty sure Roberts is bottom age this year and a certainty to be drafted next year - gun!

Really hope we keep our pick 50 to draft this kid. He had what it takes and would fit into our team immediately.  Pace and skill. That’s what this draft is all about for the Dees.

With all of the NGA selections, where will our pick 50 actually fall?

Training with the Tigers according to the Herald Sun.

That's a shame as he looks the goods and was a bargain in my opinion for pick around 50

FFS. After three premierships in the last 4 years, I’ve grown to really hate the Tigers.  I hate every other club, just some like the Pies, Eagles, Bombers and now Tigers are really hated.  ?

Mansell is a skilled, fast, wing/half back runner who showed in the SANFL that he also has the 2nd efforts and intensity to be in the AFL system. It’d be great for Mark Williams or Tim Lamb to get his number and give him a call to see if he would consider a spot with the Dees. Tigers already have too many good players. They need to opt out for a while.

I don't get how this is about Richmond. We had a pick in the draft and we chose to pass. We could have taken him if we rated him high enough. He is training at Richmond but if we have an interest we have a pick in the SSP before them. Who knows if we asked him to train on with us but at least someone has and if we think he is worthy he should be gettable.

'norm', you consistently build these players up like they're the 2nd coming of Barassi...

...are you sure you're not shifter Sheehan or Michael Turner in disguise???

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
