After seeing Geelong’s defence I reckon they could do worse than adding OMac.

Straight swap with Dangerfield ? ? seems fair.

Big statement to make but is Dusty close to being the GOAT ? A big reason why we crown Jordan the GOAT is because of how good he was when it mattered most. 3 Norm Smiths in the space of 4 years is absolutely ridiculous.

Tigers should build a statue of Barry Prendergast.

That fateful day when we were trying to lose and Richmond were desperate to win says it all. Ten years later we are still irrelevant and they have won 3 flags in four years and another beckons. We will struggle to make 8th.

Yes all true, but what if we had taken say the mercenary and Dusty as our picks. Would the Tigers have won 3 flags without Dusty, maybe not. I was just illustrating the point that a small decision can change so much. I am not suggesting that having Dusty would have got us success, but rather affected Richmond’s chances of it. Anyway it is what it is.

Umpires should be recognised, one of the hardest jobs in the world bud

Hawks, Tigers, Cats great examples of strong management and planning........MFC is a 50 year example of mismanagement  and ineptitude

No doubt it’s a difficult game to adjudicate however disagree with it being one of the hardest jobs in the world.

Congratulations to the Tigers. Showed great mental strength, deserved winners.

Since 1964 ... hawks 12, tigers 8, cats 3 flags...

Member for 23 yrs & supporter since 1972, not sure why I many others continue to support this club as nothing but failure 6 decades going strong!

Dusty has three Normy's. Barassi would have had five if they existed in his day.

Completely relate JD . . . although my emptiness is driven by the realisation, almost every year, that we are miles away from the standard required to win premierships.

Nah QD. One more good preseason and the rest of the comp better watch out ?

Umpiring is difficult because the rules keep changing.

Firies, health workers, police and defence forces all have it much tougher though

Also the fact its a 360 degree game where you have to run around 15km and are consistently abused. Without umpires there is no game, they deserve to be recognised

Was almost a replica of last year’s prelim between these two. Cats dominated the first half again and should have been further in front at the main break. Some unforced errors by the Cats early in the third quarter enabled Richmond to catch up quickly and proved costly.

I enjoyed the contest and made better by a decent crowd. Those lucky enough to attend were treated by one Dusty Martin. What a champion!

Absolutely... I say it as it is,

Dangerfield is the most protected player in the comp.

Ever since he got cleaned up and out-played by our own Bernie Vince!

grrrrrrrrrr

Kayo doesn't have any rights even to show the 7 stream today and I can't get the 7plus stream working

Luckily I can live without seeing this one

This is a f8cking disgrace, this hasn't been conveyed to subscribers at all. Looks like it's the same situation for the NRL grand final today.

yeah, unfortunately it's well known - hence why all foxtel / kayo advertising is about having 'every game of every round of the home and away season' - they've never had the rights to telecast the grand final for either as it's a ch 7 or ch 9 exclusive

i had to resort to 7+ to stream the grand final - it was on about a 2-3 minute delay and in sd

Thanks for clarifying that, I thought I'd watched it on Kayo last year but obviously not.

What annoys me the most is that we did not even interview him.

yeah it sucks

In the 21st century sports demand big fees and the only way they can be recovered is to charge subscribers, you get what you pay for pure and simple. I don’t like the system but that is the rules. Why a night GF? A few more points on the ratings chart for broadcasters all the other stated reasons are crap. On that subject I could see nothing about the night GF that was better than day time. Perhaps it is just habit but having to wait all day just seemed to dull the enjoyment when it finally started. But you can bet today or tomorrow the AFL will be gushing about it. I will be surprised if the day GF happens again. It is just one of many things that I don’t like about where sport has landed. Yes I am old and won’t be around much longer But to me not all change is for the better.

Also, [censored] Richmond. Most annoying team in the league. Hate them more than any other and seeing them win again leaves me with a foul taste in my mouth.

Thank goodness that someone said it. I hate richmond so much more than any other team in the league.

add to that all of my richmond mates drunk texting me last night ffs.

I long for the days of the 2010's when Richmond were pure dog poo.

Yes that is the point that i shall never forgive

The MFC is so good at outsmarting itself

We are still so far away from getting it right. Although i have some faith in Pert, to do the job

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
