Bloke will go to the Hawks for a pick in the 50s. Take it to the bank.

Issues with separation from family? Unpopular with other players? Injury cloud ? Issues with the coach? Humungous salary.

While I don't know the truth of any of this ( and it's possible there is more bubbling away) , I just get the feeling that "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".

Pass.

Interesting isn't it - I see Collingwood as the 'Denmark' in this.

As in, who is driving the narrative around the first 4 items you listed? It's not Treloar.

It seems bitter, and clearly relationships will never be repaired.

Collingwood continues to push hard to jettison Treloar after an official meeting last week and several phone conversations between the midfielder and coach Buckley.

The Herald Sun believes several senior teammates are upset that Treloar has been used as a scapegoat for the club’s salary cap issues.

Treloar’s conversations with Buckley have been particularly robust at stages.

Treloar has had bad hammy issues,  and who better to fix those issues than Darren Burgess the miracle worker?

Mahoney had better be in his ear!

It seems Covid and isolation issues have tipped some clubs and players over the edge. We have already benefited with Brown and one club will with Treloar.  Other moves happening I'm sure can be linked also. Clubs that come out in front at the end of trade may well be the ones that that are best managed.  Players from all clubs talked with each other more than ever this year in the hub environment so the perceived pecking order of 'destination' clubs may be changing.  It's a new world.

Senior players want him out???? This if true really is damning ...... from Collingwoods perspective. I know Footy and Cricket clubs and you play with some guys that.. Well you think, he's a good player but I don't particularly like or take to him, However you soldier on for the benefit of the team. I cannot believe players want him out !!!A few points here

1 This is very murky and messy in view of Collingwood letting this get out if true

2 I believe he is In fact popular amongst team mates which makes this all the more intriguing why spruik the story?

3 Adam Treloar must be really mystified by this latest assertion!

4 Small aside. He was an absolute Star in Junior Footy and my son was given the task of tagging him in an u15 game and did well! He did say to me that he was a great bloke and shook his hand and acknowledged my sons performance!

Ah!!

Something not right here

Good luck Adam Treloar!

They'll have to trade Treloar out to pay for the lawsuit, though!

as someone that had brayshaw as his fave player, i would be open to moving on angus for treloar, should angus be open to it. players like angus are a dime a dozen. treloar has speed and kicks goals. they've appeared rare the past few years..

Keep an eye on this one. Heard today he's done with Collingwood and is looking for a new home. We are one of the few teams that can afford him. (+ pies are happy to pay a % of his future wage)

We gotta get him.  No flag since 1964.   The time to strike is now.

Looking at it with logic i'm not sure how we fit him in the midfield group without moving one of Harmes or Brayshaw out. A winger like Phillips makes sense because we only have 1 maybe 2 if you count Baker.

Would add a point of difference to our midfield, but just can't see how we can afford him in terms of salary and by trade. Pies wanted pick 5 from Suns. Can't see us satisfying them with what we've got, particularly with them looking to ship out their future first next year for the next daicos.

TMac straight swap! And they pay 200k for the remainder of his contract.

Never mind any picks! Adam chooses where he goes and Pies take what is offered to them. This is a salary dump by them and they can’t have it both ways! Unless there paying 500k each year for the remainder of his contract...

The club that convinces him wins out BIG! There is No Way the Pies want to keep him after this shommozzzle and will be desperate... Dees need to WIN him over! MCG should be a big draw card!

Treloar is no wingman. He’s a dead set rover. Was a gun three years ago but I dunno if he is now. Seems to have lost a little speed

Is this another rumour? Treloar has had a falling out with DeGoey?

Listening to Edmund right now

He is 100% backing his story

Remember Sam was reporting the Adelaide camp fallout and got smashed for that one at the time.

He was on the money.

Comes across as a smart a.... at times but won't push a story unless he has his facts backed up.

He's either on the money or people are lying to him.

I’d be keen on Treloar but not sure we would offer him 5 years (as per his current contract).

Our midfield is already full and we don’t have enough minutes to give to everyone now. Couldn’t see Treloar coming unless we traded out a mid. Brayshaw would be the one I guess. Not sure how I feel about that but maybe we need to do something ballsy to make things happen.  Our midfield would be heaps better balanced with this change.

600k and a second rounder Tom Browne is saying. I have no info on if that is true just that he is out of collingwood.

Sorry, mixed up my Sam's...McLure was the Crows story, this is Edmund.

Not as big a smart a.... still checks his facts so not making it up.

It's real or someone is not telling him the truth.

Reckon a club is seriously a chance to get him with a 3rd rounder or something here.

We need to look after our own players first with Oliver, Gawn, Salem, Jackson and Weideman coming out of contract next year. I imagine they'll all be wanting pay rises as they are all entering their prime. Gawn and Oliver could command upwards of $850k a season so we would need to do some very shrewd negotiating with Collingwood.

If that's true then, pending due diligence, we'd be silly not to look at it.

IF they can somehow make it happen without really stuffing up our salary cap, in exactly the same way as the pies did,  it could be a premiership defining move. Would lift our potency enormously. Bringing in brown and Treleor would get the memberships rolling in too. Im sure there’s quite a few clubs sitting around tables deep into the night trying to figure out how to get it done. We can only hope.

Fair enough, It just doesn’t look good to me (I think most are biased against today’s footy journos) when Buckley comes out denying it but happy to retract  if it is proven.

Just heard a snippet from Jon Ralph on fox sports news.

He said “of the 234 players in the AFL who had over 100 kicks this year Treloar had the 3rd worst kick rating. The stat takes into account degree of difficulty. He also kicked just the one goal. Collingwood believe he just does not hurt opposition enough”

This is why Collingwood want rid. For the money he commands that’s a horrible stat.

We need to bring in midfielders that elevate our kicking efficiency not drag it down further. It’s a big NO from me.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
