Apparently on a truck load of money as the contract goes on. Back ended and pies maybe looking to invest in a key forward. Not many win a flag without a key forward.

He is going to gold cast, just playing hard to get so he and his manager can attempt to drive up his value. That's my opinion

You should put the opinion proviso part at the start of the otherwise seemingly definitive statement. I'll show you an example: 'In my opinion he is going to the Gold Coast, just playing hard to get so . . .' etc. followed by any other random speculation you wish to include. I don't mean to be a [censored], but the world will be a much better place if everyone just followed these simple rules.

I get the feeling the Pies see a chance of pick 5 and a young key forward in the draft and the Suns see the chance of getting a gun mid when they've had a heap of picks as is.

His biggest flaw is rushed disposal. His second biggest flaw is availability. But the deal makes too much sense for both clubs not to look at.

As much as we need an injection of inside pace I don't think he's what we need or worth the risk.

He is 100% gone from the Pies.

Collingwood suggested they would facilitate a trade up north to go with his family, he has turned around and said he wants to be strictly traded to a Melbourne based club

you can't seriously be complaining about the order in which something is written ... time for you to go to bed after your glass of milk

Again, it would be great if this was prefaced with 'In my opinion', or 'I've heard', or 'I've been reliably told by a solid source', or 'I read on Bigfooty that' etc.

Does it really make a difference if I say I have a reliable source ? My source is quiet high up at Collingwood & always is on the money with his tip offs so I'd take this too the bank (as Robbo once said)

A big no from me. Is a massive gut runner but is possibly the biggest butcher by foot in the AFL. Particularly on the money he is on.

At least he gains territory, I reckon he would play similarly to langdon but with more pace

Langdon is pinpoint in comparison, granted I think he also improved markedly over the season. I dont see the point of gaining territory if it just comes straight back over your head.

Langdon is not pin point. Literally coughed up an opportunity to goal to pass off with no pressure against essendon as one recent example.

A year would be okay, 2 maybe, 3 a big no.

It does help if you note the general nature of the source - not that I would expect you to divulge the second part. But the response (admittedly grumpy - pre-trade time does my head in) was in respect to constantly having to determine if statements in these threads are mere speculation or derive from gleaned information. I acknowledge that you provided some further detailed info which would help to deduce the latter, but I don't know if this is being repeated from the radio or somewhere else or whatnot. Anyway, thanks for sharing what you've been told. It is appreciated.

Yes - if you have mail, or you're suggesting you have mail, I think it's fair to indicate that. Separate yourself from those who are just speculating with their own opinions.

It's true some (myself included from time to time) will question your sources, but if you do have a good source, I'd prefer to know when you're passing on info vs when you're just offering your own opinion.

Peeps too serious.

Wanted him a few years back, but his contract is too big for us if we want to keep Petracca and Oliver happy.

Very strange from the Pies. They Liked him enough to trade him in. He has gotten better if anything with the pies and now they’ve basically told him to [censored] off? Not great player management. Some injury concerns but he has some good years left. They must have their eyes on a big trade. Or maybe it is cap space for De Geoy?

sidebottom and pendels are really getting on. Beams and Treloar gone too. Bit light on in the middle. And Grundy struggling too

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
