only solution is do away with interchange

coaches will have the choice of run their team into the ground or start resting onballers deep and keeping them deep

guess what the will choose

Should not teams have the choice if they want adavantage. Why does the umpire assume in cases where a player may not know the free was paid?

Yep. The root cause is the interchange

it all started in the mid nineties

Games are so low scoring.  Is it the poor conditions or is the game just becoming a sump? Not attractive for viewers this ping pong and grind.

It’s turned into Rugby.

Geelong’s disposal is Melbourne like.

Richmonds pressure has been amazing, Geelong have looked a little Melbourne like under the pressure. I would hate to think how we would be going tonight though.

I don't mind close games but this is just boring. Seriously Geelong have been the inform team and they have kicked only 1 goal and it's nearly 3/4 time. Even melbourne can do better than that.

Credit to dimma and his team for doing there homework but gee Chris your team looks horrible.

Lynch doing his hammy is interesting.

Just watched a little bit of the current match. Cats playing their keepings off game but the Tigers are all over them when they miss a target.

Not that I'm expecting GC to cause an upset against Collingwood but tonight's result will make it highly unlikely that Port Adelaide drop out of the top 2 places even with a loss to them in the last game which could be a problem for us if it comes down to that result.

Cats might win this!

Agreed. Drink heavily but importantly you must put the tv on mute lest you find out about a players uncle used to be boxer or some nonsense

Flag favourites score 1 goal in 3 quarters

hilarious!

Wow where do the tigers get all their energy from? It's almost like watching a team off a bye play a team off a 5 day break!

Mismatched rest periods have been the worst thing about this season. I wanna see the win percentages for teams off 4 day and 5 day breaks.

Oh Tom, there was still 5 minutes on the clock. No need to rush it. Instead of making it exciting and getting it back to 9 you rush it and they run it up the other end and get a goal killing the game off.

mini come back from Geelong saved that game from absolute mediocrity.

Time to reduce team sizes to 20 or 21 and reduce rotations.

Everyone is sick of 30 players in one eighth of the ground

Richmond are a very good side but there creeping up my list of most hated clubs quickly. I am so sick of Jack and Tom turning to the umpire complaining they didn’t get a free kick every time they don’t mark it and Hardwick is their coach so that doesn’t help. I really hope they don’t win the flag this year.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
