Don't think they've uploaded it on that link yet.

Can see it on spotify though, thanks.

Thanks for posting this SWYL. I can't see the chat/interview podcast. The latest podcast visible (We're going backwards) indicates it's a separate podcast to be posted. Maybe not up yet?

Latest showing when I open link is yesterday's "We're going backwards"?...

Help needed by this dinosaur!

didnt see the more recent posts

Just had a look before I think you need to subscribe to the podcast in the podcasts app and then the more recent podcasts appeared in my podcast feed, took a few minutes

Straight bat. As usual, no accountability regarding our on field performance this season. With the exception of the update regarding a home base, I feel worse after listening to that.

So what is the up date RF? Or isn't there one.

We are currently in phase two of the project to build a home base within the MCG precinct. He didn't go into specifics regarding exact locations or time frames for when this will be achieved. He gave the impression that this project was well down the track and was progressing quickly. Imagine the impact of the pandemic will slow this process down while we pick up the pieces of the hit to the soft cap and balance sheet.

At least we know we are going for a location that is synonymous with this club rather than a Casey or somewhere away from the soul of the club, the MCG/MCC.

The club has one!

So nothing further than the past. I cannot see a Labor government failing on all side with no cash after the pandemic nightmare giving cash to a bunch of silver tails.

Frankly this is just full of platitudes

i guess pert isn’t going to acknowledge and explain the rationale for baffling selections and team strategy e.g throwing Pruess up forward in the wet and what the coaching staff might have been thinking making ~17 changes over the last 3 weeks

Pert fumbled a bit when asked about whether Goodwin would be coaching rd 1 2021 - refused to indulge in any hypotheticals if we lost our last 2

The alarming aspect for me was Pert highlighting 'great wins' this season against Hawthorn and Collingwood. Hawthorn are in full blown rebuild mode, and Collingwood had 3 or 4 of their top 6 players out.

We've beaten no great teams in Goodwins entire reign as coach, Geelong EF 2018 were just average, Hawthorn the week after the same. Any time we play a premiership contender like Richmond, WCE or a full strength pies we get smashed.

We beat the eventual premiers in Perth a couple of weeks before they won the Grand Final?

Apologies, I forgot about that game. Unfortunately the only memory I have against West Coast in 2018 is having our pants pulled down on national TV under the pressure of a preliminary final. Our game style gets shredded with an ounce of opposition pressure

It was a very simplified reason as to why we're not winning games of footy. It runs much deeper than just having lapses of concentration for a quarter. Goodwin has been saying for almost 2 seasons now in his post match conferences that we're working hard to get that right. The next questions should've been, "why in 2 years have the club not rectified that problem"? and "what are they doing to rectify it"?

On face value it sounds like Goody will be head coach next year. Unless we finish the season on a high in our next 2 matches, it will be very hard to build support and optimism heading into 2021. Over to you Goodwin.

Kennedy was missing and Oscar knocked Darling out in the first minute.

We got lucky that afternoon.

As a CEO and given we are still in season, he really can't really do anything but back his people.

I was interested to note that we could start work on a home base right now, if we were not being particular about a location in the Shadow of the MCG.  I think this is the right approach.

I thought he was less than convincing when the host asked whether Goodwin would be coaching Round 1 2021.  A simple 'yes' would have sufficed, even if he had to reneg on it later.

And jeez, he really does sound like Robert Walls.

It is all a fog now.  Prior to the WC Home and Away match didn't we have a few chances before that to cement our spot?

One of the very few times we have stood up in a crunch must win game , and we also had a bit of luck fall our way that day IIRC  (darling went off injured early, no Kennedy) still one of my favourite all time MFC wins , breaking a 12 year finals drought

I think part of it to was that we weren’t expected to win that day, compared to rd23 2017 and the last 2 games where we were favourites  - mentally does this playing group handle pressure of a must win game or when the opposition bring the pressure ? I still don’t think so

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
