Unsure if his name has been mentioned but a pretty classy midfielder when up and running. Yes, durability concerns but would back burgess to get him going. Feel like we are at least one quality mid short in there for when Trac rests forward, for example. Thoughts? Queries? Concerns?

No thanks, but i reckon if  he goes then that pick they get for him goes to us for Angus Brayshaw. just a suggestion.

We have an oversupply of inside mids already,  no thanks.

He seems like a pretty well rounded midfielder rather than just see ball get ball on the inside. Gets just as many uncontested possessions as contested. Think he'd be handy if fit

We're no chance.

Sounds like Geelong is in the box seat, but could easily stay or go to Port.  I don't think we're in the calculations at all.

Don't forget we were not linked to May until late in the piece as well, doesn't really mean much at this point. Money talks and if we offered enough he'd take it

That's the problem - I don't think we have the coin to pursue him.

I also think, if we were to make a splash, we would do so for another winger, or even another key forward to complement the Weid/Jackson combo.  I don't see a Brad Crouch as a desperate need for us.

That's a fair statement. From my perspective his skillset is not surplus to our needs, I've seen him play pretty well on the outside with his run and skills, I don't think ability to win your own ball and being a pure inside mid are mutually exclusive

Hasn't really kicked on his early career form. He used to be quite explosive around stoppages I thought, he's lost that with injury and his disposal is ho-hum. I'd pass here.

not sure it's the same case when it's a free agency like crouch or viney - generally those conversations start up to 18 months out

may was pre-agency, so it made sense that he moved when he did

i wouldn't want either crouch while we have all of oliver, petracca, viney, brayshaw, harmes, and sparrow

That's a fair contention and one that seems to be widely shared. I think I'm in the minority that believes Crouch doesn't offer an identical skillset to those players you've mentioned. He's pretty quick and a good ball user, can't have enough quality mids to rotate through in my opinion

Yes, I dont think Geelong will touch him now, meaning they will go hard for Viney

Geelong won’t care. He wasn’t charged.

It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
