Outs: jones, Hibberd (inj), Spargo

Ins: Harmes (to play Jones role), Jetta, fritta

Have to look at Jones, Hannan, vandenBerg, Pickett, Spargo and OMac (depending on Sydney's structure).

With so many mid/small forwards on the chopping block, surely now is the chance to get Harmes back into that half of the ground?

Fritsch also gets one of those spots.

TMac doesn't get back for Brown (or anyone else). Wagner holds his spot, I think. Lockhart replaces Hibberd if Hibberd's injured. If he gets up, not sure what we do with Lockhart. He probably misses again.

I want Oscar McDonald out and never picked again. Sydney aren't tall, and I thought he was terrible.

His turnover kick, inboard from half-back/wing with no pressure on him + my subsequent reaction, abruptly ended the life of my Sony Bravia television.

Fairly short break going up to the hot and humid Cairns.    Luckily the same day break as the Swans.

There will definitely be a few changes.

OUT:

Hannan cannot hit a target. Pickett, runs to wrong spots and cannot keep his feet, just too costly to keep him in.

Bennell in for Pickett who was terrible tonight

Fritsch in for AVB

Harmes in as a forward for Hannan

Oscar out for Lockhart possibly or Jetta

May to Canberra as Minister for Defence !

He is perhaps the worst AFL player right now.  Never to play again.
But goody loves him. They were laughing around after the siren.

Out: Hannan, Kozzie

In: Bennell, Fritter

If Hibb's ankle doesn't come up, maybe Lockard (for Papley)

Would keep Rivers, Wags and Brown for the time being

Pickett seems overawed and gets few possessions and has little idea of what to do ball in hand - replace with Hunt.

Harmes to replace Hannan.

Spargo has lost his Sparko, replace with Bennell.

Oscar is never going to be a gun but having him improves the impact usually from May and Lever. It also allows them  to get a bit more aggressive on the rebound so I’d rather him in.

I love Jonesy for the warrior he’s been for us but his lack of speed and turning the ball over is really hurting him. I think he might be nearly finished which is very sad to see.

Maybe him out and allow Harmes to take his role on the wing or forward of the ball.

Fritsch back in for Kozzie. I’m a fan of the kid but his brain is working too quick for his body. I’d rather give him some games in the twos and kick a few bags.

If not Kozzy then Hannan out. Not his best night but someone needs to make way for Fritsch

I said this in the game day thread and I’ve thought it for a while now: he’s not good when the ball hits the ground which is a huge issue for his position.

He simply doesn’t get down low enough to pick the ball up cleanly.

I’m sorry to say this but I’m thinking Neal Bullen will get recalled.

Ins. Lockhart. Fritsch  Bedford  Baker  Bennell Harmes

outs.  Hibberd (inj). Hannan Pickett (managed) Vandenburg Spargo omcd

Lockhart May lever
salem. Tomlinson. rivers
langdon. Viney.  Brayshaw
Melksham Brown Bennell
fritsch. Weid Bedford
Gawn  Trac. Oliver.
Harmes Baker Jones wagner

Out: Jones, Spargo, Hannan
In: Harmes, Bedford, Fritsch

OUT Jones nearly lost the game for us,

Pickett to much flair & no footy basics

Omac not up to it

INS Fritsch

Bennell

Hunt (bit of run might help)

Don't be surprised if Corey Wagner gets a call up for Kozzy. Has apparently been dominating in the lower level and could slot in to give Koz a rest.

I know Spargo only had 7 disposals but he made some crucial tackles and I thought his pressure was better then most forwards.

No Way Do Not Want GIF

IN : LOCKHART, FRITSCH

OUT: OSCAR, HANNAN

Jones lucky 2 costly turnovers he's playing for his career.

Fritsch, Bedford and Hunt/Jetta in

Picket, Hannan and Hibberd (managed) out

I don’t like Wagner ball in hand I just don’t trust him, but probably did enough to earn another game

Need to see a lot of changes IMO. I would prefer fresh depth players to be picked than our tired fringe players. We have to back up again 4 days later.

Harmes, ANB, Tmac, Lockhart, Fritsch, Jetta, Bennell and Hunt should all be strongly considered for the Sydney match.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
