Grabbed myself some Coopers Stout.  Boys are gonna have to play like my beer to bring this home.

Playing chocolaty and bitter always wins games.

I’m always appreciative we get to watch the game two hours before you Melbourne folk.
I promise I won’t spoil anything by posting the result early.

I’m torn about tonight.

T bone

Rib Eye

Sirloin

Tomohawk?

Bread and dripping the way we are playing

From perusing most of these posts Id say all opinion points to a loss. I guess we have well insulated ourselves from disappointment.

Here's hoping against hope in these gloomy times we are all wrong and the boys surprise us and get the job done.

Yes Ive taken a bit of insurance against us (its just business) but I'd still be happy to lose that hard earn and get a win. Go you good Dees.

My fathers day present last year that plays our theme song.

The test of our mental toughness, intensity and leaders will be put on display for tonight’s game & the following 4 games.. opportunity to grab a finals spot. For too long both in recent times and in seasons gone by we have stumbled with such opportunities. Forgive the members/supporters if we don’t entirely trust them

That's a tough gift to receive.  Imagine wanting to crack open a few beers to drown your sorrows after a loss, and hearing our theme song while you do it?  I'd vomit on the spot.

Was thinking difficult to get through....

Called aversion therapy. So many mixed emotions. So much beer.

Just cant get over how big and slow our team looks on paper.  Goodwin will need to pull out all the stops to slow the Saints down and not let them use their speed.

On the Cooper's Vintage. We got dis.

Not sure if it’s lock down kicking in, only just getting power back on after Thursday’s storms or the Shiraz talking but I think we win and I am not even nervous.

Have gone Eastern European with Cepavi and a Czech Pilsner. Will enjoy before the game curdles the stomach.

AFL have only opened two gates for game, 30m line, no social distancing

Better than the one gate they had open last year.   Better than the one ticket booth gate they had last year.

They just showed some forward pressure stats on Fox Footy.

Butler and Lonie for the Saints are #1 and #2.  We need to pay plenty of attention to that.

For the record, Pickett is rated #4 for forward pressure in the comp.

I want discipline in the club and I know Fritta missed too many shots at goal last week but he took 10 marks. Thats a lot. Hope his dismissal was the right call.

Invalid stout is probably appropriate

No mention of Spargo on Fox. Only showed top 5 in AFL. Good to see Kozzie right up there.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
