How's the 7 News promo, talking about a goal line blunder in our game... ?‍♂️

Yes. Absolute BS.

Yes but Blues would have been on our tail as well.

Best result was a Blues win. This outcome 2nd best.

Fair enough but a Blues win would have had them level with us. Definitely a good result if they could have knocked off Collingwood as more places in the 8 would have been up for grabs but with Carlton having some winnable games coming up that could have been iffy.

Kangas are canon fodder now. They have given up and the Suns should have won by 100. The next few teams to play them will be out for big wins. Power, Freo, Eagles.

Must say I like the jaguar symbol on the back of our jumper. Most of the car logos are rather nondescript.

Took me years to work out who SEW were on the back of the hawks jumper.

Jaguar’s are not ordinary!

Pity they broke down so often.

The V 12 was a mechanic's dream money spinner.

Continual rumours that Tata is trying to sell.

Most V12’s need a good mechanic to keep them tuned.
A refurbished E Type V12 would be superb. A lot of that is going on

10 wins needed to be a Finalist

Too many Teams have been crap this year

Izak rankine the only punishment from MRO. Toby Greene gets away with that blatent punch to double over Conca off the ball?  not even a fine??!?

The MRO continues to baffle. just because conca didnt crack a rib, its a bloody joke.

punish the act not the outcome FFS

The MRO have painted themselves into a corner by continuously excusing Lynch’s off the ball acts, they had to give Greene a pass or it would’ve exposed their blatant favouritism.

The system needs an overhaul and a new MRO.

When has that ever stopped them from outrageous inconsistent decisions that defy precedent or even common sense?

100%

They can start with a panel of people who are not lawyers and who have never played Aussie Rules football. But who have played high level sport (rugby, hockey, basketball). Compile a list of incidents from the past, covering most things ... sling tackles, punching, off the ball, etc etc ... and tell them "this incident should get 1 week", "this other incident should get 2 weeks", and so on. That's their reference library. And it should not necessarily reflect the actual punishments given by Mr "Protect the Stars" Christian, as making sense of that is bad for one's mental health.

What's more, it's the act that is penalised. The outcome can weight the penalty, but the act itself should be the focus of scrutiny.

Each week the panel goes over the cited incidents, compares them to the reference library, and decides on a punishment.

In a perfect world, the panel would not need to be so exclusive, but the AFL have poisoned their MRP/tribunal system over the years to where no-one can have faith in ex-players being either objective or not bamboozled by ever-changing justifications. Christian himself seems punch drunk.

My cousin was a mechanic for Jaguar. His advice was don’t ever buy a Jaguar.  Many of the V12 engines were removed and a Ford or GM V8 installed in their place. Conversion kits were an aftermarket money spinner. They tended to overheat badly and burn valves. The straight line 6 triple carb E Type was a beauty and far better car  if one could afford the service and general repairs.

Logically that would be a Green Light for the Weid to go the gut punch when on the lead.

I can imagine the MRO then making an example of a Dees player if we did the same as Lynch or Grubby Greene.

Greene did get a fine.

Still, the system is broken. Lynch and Greene receiving nothing but fines for blatant, non-football dog acts, is a joke. Both should have been suspended to remind the league that punching players and smacking their heads into the turf is not what you should be doing.

Totally agree.  It’s a joke. Need to suspend Greene to send a message. A fine is soft.

We all know that if they start dishing out suspensions it will stop these acts dead in their tracks yet all I hear from the experts on acts like these is "Nah no suspension, should just get a fine". These people are usually the same ones calling for the harder penalties and saying fines do nothing. Too much foot in both camps for me. Get serious AFL or go home.

The scene from madmen summed it up well.

Regarding tonight's game that has no relevance, I am trying to determine if my hatred of hawthorn is more than my dislike of crows fans.

I'll go for Adelaide to win.

hope crows win by a disputed goal in last few seconds. decision for touched goes to the arc goal line cameras but they are malfunctioning and decision is umpires call - goal and match to camry crows. media in meltdown.

As with the players, the maggots are exposed in hub and frenzy football. Night after night, game after game we same the same clowns making appalling and consistently bad decisions. Tonight Maggot 11 is excelling. But of course he will running around again in a couple of days making the same appalling calls. Unfortunately, it’s not just Maggot 11.

They have a roster system between the AFL, and French Island Seconds. A different winner every week sadly.....

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
