Based on dislike of the other team or these winners help our finals chances

Carlton are more of a threat to spots in the 8, but I still think they'll win tonight.  Probably by 8/10ths of one point.

Obviously Demons going to slap the Doggies down and go a game and 25% ahead of them.

Port will despatch Hawthorn because Port wins change nothing and Hawthorn losses bring happiness to little orphan kids everywhere.

Essendon will upset Richmond just because lols and that would put us ahead of Richmond.  Also, it will be hilarious watching the Bombers finish just outside the eight year after year after year and constantly saying 'but we beat some good teams so really we're the best'.

Fremantle may or may not beat the legless one-winged Swans.  They ought to, but they are still Fremantle.

Adelaide vs Geelong is nobody's business.

Lions will reinforce the question mark on St Kilda's credibility in finals.

West Coast will, on the one hand, help our buffer in the eight, on the other hand probably lock us out of the top 4.

Collingwood will somehow manage to bugger it up against North and find themselves just barely in the 8.

Just have a sneaky feeling suns will cause a huge upset and win by 11 points.

Don’t reckon the Suns winning is much of an upset. They are around the same level as the blues

and anyone that’ll be cheering the bombers on, you should be ashamed!

Hope you noticed the ?(vomiting emojis) for both Ess and Rich...

... I just want to see that smug look wiped off Dimwit's face...

I hope the suns win by a point.

I did mate but still. Would be sweet to see Dimma eat some humble pie. He should be embarrassed. But my hatred for Essendon seemingly knows no bounds!

And dodgy 50m penalty.

Carlton will destroy GC17 coming off a 4 day break and having to play in 30 degree heat and humidity.

I love the fact that there are games played in Darwin but bloody hell the weather just makes the games horrible to watch.

Are they playing with a wet piece of soap ?

keeping frostball in and bringing back $cully and the general?

Bringing Scully in could be counted as tanking I guess.
more talking about the amount of injuries that are popping up since they’re out of finals. Some genuine obviously. Now Gunston out too.
watch the ‘injuries’ mount up.
more kids make their debut.

Worst game of season.

yawn

Horrible game.

Bruce commentating.

It's the pits.

Btw, since when was Newnes name pronounced Noones ?

Or is he like Jaeger O'Meara, who doesn't know how to correctly pronounce either of his names ?

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
