Harmes.  4 clangers already.

Tomlinson a liability, always one step off the pace as usual.

Our lack discipline and composure is under 10's stuff, it's embarrassing.  Vandenburg, are you serious?  Do you actually want to get picked again?

They have free players everywhere, the pressure meter must be at record low levels.

Basic fundamentals, why are we so bad at them?

Shocking start no sign of woo hoo man either atm, he is in deep hiding.

Fancy bring in a plodder in McDonald but leaving out a 206cm ruckman..

Only Goodwin in the entire AFL would do that.

Did you miss the game on Wednesday?

This is worse and I did not think that was possible.

You cant win against this crap umpiring.

So many non decisions for us.

1 hitout for the entire quarter. Wow.

Why the hell did they bring in T Mac instead of  Preuss

Why did they start with Jackson in the first 5 mins.

Norf were two goals up before Tmac went into the centre.

May and Tmac were both on the bench towards the end of the quarter.

So weird.

As I said Tomlinson is not a defender. All 3 roos goals are on 100% on him.

Imagine the crap omac would be getting if he gave away three goals and was being thrashed by a kid.

Where is Goodwin's head at?

Absolutely fair.

I was a fan of Tomlinson last week, but he has indeed cost us all three goals (although the free kick before the vandenBerg 50 was weak, and of course he didn't concede the 50).

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
