No Gawn and Viney makes it hard. Ugly loss coming up. Those two have done so much work for us this season

North have proven that they can't win a game without Cunnington. Jackson and Brayshaw will be able to cover them.

Hopefully we won't see the clips of Gus sitting despondently on the bench for long periods.

Weid and LJ to take advantage of Gus's delivery into the forward 50.

Has to be Sparg's last chance with Bennell, Bedford, JJ, Hannan, Chandler and even Hunt capable of taking his place.

Last chance garbage, should Never have been picked in front of Bennell, Bedford, JJ, Hannan, Chandler and even Hunt

Are we serious??

I notice that Preuss was named as an emergency, does that mean he’s in Adelaide as well? If so he must feel coming to Melbourne was a wait of time.

Agree on pretty much all of them, but Bennell is being managed. I’d easily have Hunt in over Spargo.

Love to see a sprint race between Gus, Tomlinson, Tmac and Jones.

Possibly the slowest team that has played for the MFC since Big Carl, Ray Biffen, Spud Dullard and Gary baker (sorry Gary) lined up together. And i reckon those four would beat the others home!

Good grief i have been waiting all evening for this

Spargo and T mac Selection equals committee  lost plot

Tmac is not right cant run cant catch cant turn cant kick  the game has passed him by

Spargo is vertically challenged with zero footy smarts

Why employ Preuss if not for this scenario

Tmac has played and shown nothing. Preuss at least may really want to play and perform against his old club

gobsmacked>

Only thing I'll say on this, is that Hunt has been given a crack this year and, for the most part, done little with it.

Time to give Charlie a crack and see if he can do better.

I dunno what the point is in having Preuss if we don't play him for this exact scenario.

Have a feeling he will play instead of Tom Mac. Hunt must really be on the outer if he is behind Spargo, who is small, slow, a short kick and can’t mark, the opposite of Hunt.

Like all DL'ers I have NFI what the FD see in Charlie.

27 games averaging less than one goal and one goal assist per game.

Spargo was good in 2018 and after a commendable debut. He was rubbish in 2019 along with the rest of them. Glad he’s getting another crack.

Spargo has always been rubbish, has just been carried in a good team in 2018

SPARGO HAS SHOWN NOTHING

Incorrect.

He showed plenty in 2018, which is why he was part of the side in 2018 for most of the year.

As ET rightly points out above, he stunk it up in 2019 but so did many others.

Deserves another crack this week.

Spargo is easily the worst selection of the year. Tommy isn't much better but when on song he can at least play forward, Spargo can't play anywhere.

Almost 2 years ago Wise Where has he been?

Developing.

To me, he deserves a run at it.  Hunt got his chance and did little with it.  Bennell has been hot and cold.  Time to give Charlie a game or two and see if he can cement a spot in the side going forward.  He's shown he is capable of doing it.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
