  • I’m putting $1000 on Luke Jackson getting the NAB rising star this week.
  • Nicks has flagged we'll be younger this week. Let's see if selection backs him up.
  • Persisting with Gibbs is a complete waste. Trade him back to Carlton for peanuts.
  • We are in diabolical trouble. Game plan from St.Bernadettes year 3 marks up playbook.
  • I think a winless season and Nicks is shown the door IMO. We need a full clean out of coaches and Fagan needs to throw HUGE coin at a proper coaching setup.
  • It’s just hit me. The realisation that the best player at our club is a 35yo mother of two?
  • Invite Blight back to the club as a mentor for Nicks.
  • If anyone in the media, social media or anywhere else asks again why Gibbs can't get a game, please refer them to this week's performance.
  • Has Lever played in Adelaide against the Crows yet?
  • Last weeks embarrassment has finally made the club really go into rebuild mode.
  • Prediction : Tex to "run through" Jake Lever at some point.
  • Crows making EIGHT(!) changes. Two debutants.
  • Gerard and Robbo both very complimentary of the selections with saying that it’s clear the Crows are finally accepting of the rebuild and that Gibbs, Atkins and Knight would all be very worried about their futures.
  • If they actually won would there be enough players available to provide the gatorade shower?
  • Dees are ripe for the picking too.
  • Excellent, at least 3 of those players dropped should never ever play a game for the club again.

Gold  ?

I swear those are Demonland comments. I even think one of them is mine.

Expected way more comments suggesting they can knock us off.  If I was an Adelaide supporter I'd be pretty confident about this one.

It is funny because it is legitimately true. Erin Phillips would be the best in for them this week (probably for us too...)

Their side looks pretty good on paper. However, no Sloane or Crouch will really hurt their midfield. It's ours to lose, I can't see it happening, I think they're on the tank also. Even if we win, I'm still going to be looking hard at the fundamentals and execution of our game plan and cohesion, lets see if Stubborn Simon gets the lads firing.

  • Persisting with Jones is a complete waste. Trade him back to retirement for peanuts.
  • We are in diabolical trouble. Game plan from St.Bernadettes year 3 marks up playbook.
  • I think a Bottom 4 season and Goodwin is shown the door IMO. We need a full clean out of coaches and Bartlett needs to throw HUGE coin at a proper coaching setup.
  • It’s just hit me. The realisation that the best player at our club could be a 35yo mother of two, if we had one.

  • Prediction : Lever to "run through" Tex at some point.
  • Crows making EIGHT(!) changes. Two debutants.
  • Gerard and Robbo completely ignore Demons.
  • If Melbourne actually won would would anyone care?
  • We are ripe for the picking. Nil all draw?

Not only reached the milestone at 32, but also did them both at once.  Clearly has Phillips covered.

Wow, I must be looking at a different side,.  I reckon it looks terrible.  Only their back line looks semi decent.

Must be down to the quality of the paper you printed it on.

Talia, Kelly, Laird, Doedee, B Smith, M Crouch, Seedsman, Lynch, Walker, Himmelberg, Mackay and Fogarty go OK, I'd have most of them in our side over many thats for sure. I think Jones will be a player in the future also.

Post game

  • Ricciuto . . . if you love the club like you say you do. Then go. Just go.
  • Special place in hell reserved for: ANB (he who shall not be named).
  • When Clayton Oliver is the difference, you know things are bad.
  • Walker is done, give him 200 and bye bye.
  • Luke Jackson is going to be elite. Very exciting talent.
  • We've stuffed up a couple of drafts and now we've also got the wrong coach.

Someone at Crowland would have had some joy tonight watching Action Jackson play his way to a Nab gong.

AFL will bail them out with some priority picks just like they did for Brisbane.

they might need to

crows remind me a lot of us circa 2007 - when the fall has come it has come hard

They have to be a good chance to go through the season without a win.

The last time that happened was 1964......which by coincidence was the last time ... well you know the answer to that.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
