He needs a run at it

He can do that in the scratch match then like some of the other players.

No more special treatment at the selection table.

Assumptions lead to confusion and you sir are very confused. I’m 43, demons supporter since the age of 5. Played and coached football at a high level but I am a plant.... The runner is coming out mate, no more flank,  you’re gonna have to don the red vest and ice up after that effort.  But hey let’s keep keyboard bashing the boys and the club because last time I checked that wins flags.

33% winning rate  won't get it done T J. 2 and four at the half way mark and we are dead for another season. Please tell me  how this forward line is going to consistently kick winning scores?

By spending more time on the park together. Hannan and Pickett basically new to this forward line. Fritta has been freshly added too. T-Mac needs confidence. Has shown he has what it takes.  Personally I would have weidemann in there. It needs to be setttled. Way too many changes. Not many teams can claim a potent forward line this year yet the critics seem to be harsher.

Stop trying to turn players into something that are not.

Smith is a forward play him as one

Harmes is a good middle fielder not a HB.

TMac is a high half forward or CHB not a deep FF.
Bailey is not a KPF. Play him where he plays best as a HF.

Hannah is a VFL talent that’s  why he was not on the Dogs list reserves for him no consistency.

Play Weideman as a key forward for the next month if does not fire we will know he is a bust. He ain’t a Ruckman.

Lever isn’t a key position back man either. He played his best football as a third defender. I’m still not sure on Oscar but i think what you may lose bringing him in you will gain it back plus more having lever floating. Wasted In my opinion

Is it time to put Tomlinson at full forward?  Not convinced he's a wingman.

leading metres gained for us last game??!?

the notion of shifting him around from the role we brought him in as a free agent to play is one i don't understand at all

it's like those suggesting we play may forward...why? by that logic o mac has to come in as a key defender; i'd rather may take that role and we find someone else who can play as a tall up forward...and i'd say no (at this stage) to smith or lever being the choices there as that trio need time to work out how to play together; it's been two games

i can completely understand the calls for weideman or brown (or jackson) to come in to play as an additional tall forward, but i don't think it's time to throw the baby out with the bathwater when we're three games into the season, and only (an interrupted) two since resumption

Problem is there is only 9 games to go. Short season does not give them time to mess about.

Confused. Mmmm. We were 17th  last year, six years into a plan after finishing seventeenth twice in a row. Listened to your mob on here try to convince others it was all down to injuries, interupted pre season, poor fitness bloke, lack of support for Goody, Goody is still learning and more. As a top level coach you would know Sunday was a perfect footy day, full and fit list to choose from. Coach and Captain had told us the previous games errors were easy to fix.  So yes I am confused that you see a forum where we can discuss a range of issues as keyboard bashing.

My mob? The fact is almost everyone on here has an ill informed opinion yet they feed off others negativity. That’s keyboard bashing. A fit list? After what 3 weeks makeshift pre season yet we all expect big things... I’m not sure you’re grasping the complexities that come with this season let alone the changes us as a club has had to deal with already through no fault of our own. Several weeks off, one game then bang, an unexpected bye.. then we are meant to come out and set the world on fire? As I mentioned earlier. We played terribly and should’ve won with that last kick. Take from that what u like... some see positives. Others choose not too.

We’re 25 games into a poor game plan with no effective forwards.

9 to go? We've played 3 of 17 (more if we make finals), although I accept that the season may yet be shortened.

Never thought i would say this but i would bring in No-Mac for Melk.  Melk is totally ineffective up forward at the moment.  If i was Goody i would play him through the middle to get him involved and try and find some touch/confidence.  But i dont think we have the luxury this week given our 1-2 record.

No-Mac replaces May who goes forward for an experimental stint over the next 3 weeks as a surprise packet / foil, or maybe better, for T-Mac.   See TomaHawk & Pods during Geelong's latter golden era.  Unlikely but i'd like to see this trialled for a few weeks just to see what those two (T-Mac & May) might bring playing up forward.

May has been super solid down back but i reckon No-Mac could be given one more go to try and cover off the usual May role / go to opponent for the sake of the team in an attempt to solve our forward issues.

Not convinced either of Weid or Brown will bring it at this point.  They could come in if the May experiment fails.

Feel free to commence rants and hammering of this zany idea....now...

Absolutely agree with you!

Rather simple, isn't it? We all seem to know; Goodwin and now,  FD Company, seem to ignore these apt qualities of our players. De-stabilisation of the team is occurring, with players like Lever, Hibberd, Salem, Melksham, Tomlinson and perhaps a few others contributing to this disarray. Again, it is a coaching issue and for the life of us all, affects our performances. Out of slot, out of kilter, out of time.

A club plant bahahaha. Anyone who isn’t in the coaching group or within the club actually has little information on our actual structures and roles or did u just inherent them? Just because people watch games it does not make them experts.

All good The Jam/plant. Genuinely interested in how our forward line should look this week. Over to you coach.

Just to be clear, you think that the club is spending time and money on random online forums to argue with fans too narrow minded to listen to any opinion that doesn't match their own?

Your being silly, there are a lot of posters on here that don't bash the club at every opportunity, I wouldn't think the club would waste any time with placing plants into supporter forums. But if hysterics turn you on then keep at it.

In Old dees defence it does seem that this season has been going for months.

Heard a great comment yesterday...."Well one good thing is that the year is now officially half over."

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
