Anyone seen the recognition wall on the page for $50+ donations? There's only 60 names on there! I'll put it down to just not being updated for a while!

Well at least it's not just me then! Don't want to make this a self indulgence exercise but after a few hundred bucks of donating it would be nice!

If you cannot do a list well don't do it all. I spent all my working life in sales and the adage I clung to was under promise and over deliver.

A week and a bit later the total is now:   $584,548.50

If we make finals, we definitely raise $1mill. If we don't and fall in a heap, we probably won't raise the money. No wonder Bartlett gave his spray. Performance in such a difficult economic environment is linked with financial stability when others may struggle.

I think the Burgo factor could be really important and he'll service his own wage in more ways than one this year.

Is the aim $1mil by end of year? Should make that easy if we make finals, not sure how we’ll go if we bomb out.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here and can't be bothered reading back to check, but there was an age article a few days ago that said we have had the least membership refunds of any club this year.  Less than 100.  We may not have the biggest membership base, but we have the best.

Our conversion of supporters to members has always been super strong

= low growth opportunity

Let's face it the demographics of the club are ageing.

As a child I remember all the old Fitzroy supporters

Deja vu is what it is

That's because 13k of them never signed up in the first place!

If we had played our first game at the M.C.G we would had a lot more, people seem to like buying their memberships at the ground.

Next year even if it's not our home game we should be asking for our first match to be played at the G.

The club needs to start winning a lot more games, or i feel they will not be spending their $$$ on a membership for the club.

Money going firmly where mouth is. Donation made.

Would actually be up for the pledge per win thing till the end of the season, might have to be slightly smaller increments though :P

I feel very proud of all those supporters who donated.   Such a poor year and they still put their hands in their pockets.   At the same time I feel a bit sad for them because the club continues to fail them.

Amazing! I was hoping mine would come this week... nothing yet!

Mines still awaiting fulfillment, looking forward to it! I wonder how they plan on running the draft experience as well.

Aren't they playing in this jumper as well this weekend?

Edit: it appears on close examination my name isn't on the jumper either, disappointing.

2nd Edit: chance it could be on the back of the jumper.

There are no names on the back.

If you want to Pm me your name I’ll take a look.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
