We'd all be in a better place if the premier hired competent people for hotel quarantine security.

And as for the 'conspiracy theory' label (how original by the way),  I and others were called conspiracy theorists months ago for saying they will make the vaccine mandatory.  Lo and behold,  there was our Prime Minister all over TV  yesterday talking about mandatory vaccinations.

If you can't see whats going on by now you have no hope.

Still gotta play our part though, no matter what.

So mandatory vaccine is a bad thing? Not even a debatable point it's a no brainer.

Nothing to do with the COVID 2020 fixture, but what a cracking movie that was eh Rusty.

Yep as dumb as movies comes but it was a one off hoot.  They certainly got the casting right.  Fabulous chemistry with a dash of slapstick jack [censored] silliness thrown in along with some some very good straight men.  Some classic meme's and GIFs from this one.

While Dan should shoulder ( and I believe will when the enquiry is finished) due to the quarantine outbreak ( guilty of not checking the success etc after a few days ) not of the choice.

So is Gladys B ( as is Brad Hazzard) responsible  for the Ruby Princess debacle. She has apologised without testing real blame I feel snd could have sacked ( or asked Brad to resign) Brad.

AND SCOMO ie responsible fir the Aged Care tragedy. Where is the plan? Says  there is one! If There is one lets see it?

Oh and if it does exist IT HAS FAILED under any situation in NSW and VIC.He did a general apology  but didn't take responsibility really.

Would definitely buy the T-shirt!

We should be playing in Hobart this weekend (a Jetstar departure reminder came up on my phone). We'd be right in the middle of this Antarctic bubble cold weather system that's been forecast to hit with game day temperatures of 9 degrees maximum and wind gusts of up to 50km p/h. No doubt we'd have coughed up a one kick lead going into the last quarter with a 10 goal hurricane at our backs.

"AFL football won't be played in Victoria in 2021 if the state of emergency is extended by 12 months"

Tom Elliott, 3AW, 25/08/2020

Hi BBP. I have no idea who Tom Elliott is but my understanding of the situation is that Victoria, unlike other states can only activate any of the measures we're currently seeing under a state of emergency for a maximum of six months only. That period is due to end soon. Extending the option for a further 12 months would allow them to be activated again at short notice (if required) without a lengthy debate taking place in parliament to change legislation. It doesn't in itself extend level 4 restrictions beyond 13 September or into the 2021 football season. It's a preemptive measure should there be a need to close things down again quickly at some point in the next year or so.

That's a ridiculous comment.

The current proposal isn't to extend the State of Emergency for 12 months, but to provide the government with ability to do so.

And regardless, the existence of a State of Emergency doesn't mean life can't get back to "normal". Indeed, the government's argument is that it needs the State of Emergency to allow life to get back to a safe normal by providing the ongoing power to require masks to be worn or density limits in places like stadiums.

Scaremongering based on politics, just like racism it’s not political people it’s an out of control virus that is killing people. These politicians are elected to make these kinds of terribly unpopular decisions. It will go to parliament to decide.

Mandatory flu vaccines are a bad thing yes.  Ask yourself why they would push a mandatory vaccine for a virus with a better than 99% survival rate that only kills the elderly and the very rare person under 60 who already have underlying medical issues?

And before you call me an anti vaxxer, no....  I have had various vaccinations in the past such as Malaria and Hep A for travels and what not.

Was more than happy to take those, but as far as this new virus goes my immune system will do just fine thanks.  As will yours I'm sure and 90% of peoples.

800,000 people have died, despite all the measures put in place. If too many people get the virus, our hospitals will be too stretched and more and more people will die that would have been saved by a vaccine. Younger people may be mostly not in serious trouble but they get it and spread it to the vulnerable.

So I guess if you don’t care about people over 60 and people with other conditions dying before their time, you should not get the vaccine.

That is probably the most selfish post I have ever read

Are you really happy for 10% of the people you know to die because you are selfish?

Edit-If the virus mutates and only affects people in your demographic would that change your mind? The world may be a better pace if they find that the virus causes sterility or impotence in the selfish.

Whether you like it or not, you're an anti-vaxxer. Selective in which vaccines you wish to have, but an anti-vaxxer nevertheless. And if you look closely in the mirror, you might also see traits of selfishness and disrespect for others. If you don't see that, you might also need spectacles for your eyes before you make a further spectacle of yourself.

Vaccine should not be made mandatory but those who refuse to take it and therefore put society at risk should be excluded from other health benefits provided by society - e.g. no access to Medicare.

An no access to the MCG!

I don't want to sit right behind or beside some virulent, COVID loving, anti vaxer, conspiracy theorist, Pete Evans wanna be, wack job yelling abuse at a dees player, or worse an umpire for not policing the rules properly.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
