And 20 questions.

I'm thinking of a coach.

Does he like to play tennis?

Too complex for Collingwood players. I would have been concerned about I Spy, too, but being in Queensland means they can keep it simple by saying each time that it starts with XXXX.

Did you take that photo Fork?

Nah, my wife did though. Plenty of Dees supporters in Yuendumu and nearby Nyirrpi. Tickets to this year’s Alice game will be a premium!

Watch the Eagles collapse in a heap now that they're back on the road.

One can only hope.

So we know Pies/Dogs/Saints then most likely R17/18 Freo/Swans, Essendon looks like Rd15 so leaves GWS as R16

Next 2 weeks are vital to playing finals, come away with 2 wins and we are right in the hunt, 2 losses ends our chances 1 win 1 loss makes it really hard but still can win 4 out of last 5 to make it.

So we have Pies Bulldogs and  Saints ahead

Who is left to play?

Swans Essendon Freo  GWS

Surely we can almost win all of these  we are playing good footy and have few injuries and we seem to be a very fit side

12 wins and a couple of finals

the end to a difficult year Go Dees

NO! NO! NNNOOOO!

Not ...we can almost............WE CAN....MUST..........win all of these....... Same reasons ..........and a Grand final.

If the coach hasn't got the players that realise this season is there for the take Ng and we have a squad to continue for the next few years.

We have to prise the window open but it is definitely there for us.

GO DEES

Details around Melbourne’s final game of the season – a clash with Essendon – are yet to be confirmed.

That Essendon game being canned was always going to come back and bite. Another brutal run of matches, all in warmer conditions no less.

That fixture is absurd.     Four games in 14 days.

Basically no chance Luke Jackson will play again this season now.

Saving him for the grand final.

I'm packing the car to Cairns. Pretty confident I can get into Cazalys with or without a ticket.

The positive is we only meet one team that comes off a longer break than us - Freo has 5 days v our 4 into that match.

All other games we either have the same break (Syd 5 v 5) or a longer break (Bulldogs 7 v 6), (Saints 7 v 6) and (GWS 5 v 4)

Playing round 17 on Saturday you would think a 5 day break is a short as it will be for the round 18 match.

If we stay fit cant see us losing one from here haha

two Saturday night prime slots and one lone Monday night slot is good for the sponsors

Winnable games all. Keep the injuries to a minimum and I'd back us to win 4 or hopefully 5 and make finals

So we have a four day break vs Freo, who have an extra day. And a five day break vs GWS, who have a four day break.

Hopefully Freo are out of contention for finals by the time we play them.

I don't see it as being too bad:

Round 14 comes after 4 rounds a week apart Sat (13), Sat(12), Sat(11), Sun(10).

Sure rnds 15 (Swans, Thurs), 16 (Freo, Mon) and 17 (Giants, Sat) will be a bit nasty but then we have another 7 day break to rnd 18.

And some bright notes: we can stay in Cairns for the Syd and Freo games and we do not play any team that is coming off a bye.

Without comparing I suspect it is no worse than most teams.

It looks like the AFL is saving the Ess game to see if is a play-off for a spot in the 8.

So much that can go wrong from here...

...and yet so much could go right.

Thu Sep 3 - Sydney (5 day break) V Melbourne ( 5 day break)

Mon Sep 7 - Melbourne (4 day break) V Fremantle (5 day break)

Sat Sep 12 - GWS ( 4 day break) V Melbourne (5 day break)

Meanwhile Brisbane have not left the state since round 1and the furthest they've travelled is an hour to Metricon.

They'll be filthy they have to fly to Cairns for 1 match.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
