Just checked the AFL app and our game has been postponed to the 1st of January 1970. That’s at least another 50 years without a flag....Damn!

While I am not questioning your medical qualifications, I do not see how someone who has had 5 tests that are negative over 3 weeks, why you think they still have it?

I don't know why they still have it. I am just going on from " reports " I have seen that this virus can lie undetected in your system. Again for how long we don't know.

It’s very possible that it’s a false positive. If he’s tested negative first. The chances of a false positive when you’re doing so many tests are quite high.

No matter if the test is positive or (dodgy) positive on Friday, how can Mckenna be picked to play on Sunday?

Serious questions must be asked by the MFC if the AFL won’t do it

This has completely F@&$ up our schedule and training

Any one who tests Positive must be Quarantined for 14 days, what were Essendrug thinking...No one will notice??

The trouble with the CV19 tests is that they ar enot 100% accurate either way.  ALl the AFL can do is assume the worst before the worst happens.

Or train after the low grade positive if some reports are to be believed?  That's an auto forfeit imv if so

Well said.  Time for MFC to stand up and demand the four points. The time for being nice losers has well and truly past.

What is a "low grade positive"?

You can't be half pregnant. What is the difference with the WuFlu?

As much as I agree with your general sentiments re Essendon,  they could have taken the bet that the Friday test was wrong, knowing he could be withdrawn if Sat proved +ve.  Trouble is in the latter case, we'd be where we are now. So I don't think merely naming him in the side was naughty in itself.  There may be naughtiness however.  We shall see (or probaby not).

That’s what i mean. On Friday he is sent home to Quarantine for 14 days.

IF NOT, WHY NOT....??

Don't listen to "reports"- listen to medical research. We have done really well in this country following medical advice. We are lucky to have any footy at all at the moment. The protocol and bi-weekly testing has done its job. You don't need to tell us about brain fade pondering.

After Essedons recent failings you would think that they would not dare to poke the bear again.

On the (admittedly very early) information available, it seems as if the "whatever it takes" mentality still prevails.

The difference is the nature of the test.

I agree.     But we don't know that he didn't go home on Friday and isolate (who is he living with?).  No clear statement as to the facts as yet.

Or the season?

Fairy Nuff, it is a sound rule about positive testing and serves the footballers (and public) well. At the same time, it is another disappointment that we have to acknowledge, support and tolerate. Postponement is the wise choice and in reality, the only choice.

Interesting how it is an Essendrug player arriving at training ... interesting that individual testing is not being conducted prior to training with the club and personnel prior to the assembly of players and 'hangers on' for that training session (ie: takes one out of the contamination risk prior to a gathering).

If it was previously known that he had been overseas, the testing and its result could have been conducted/discovered without interruption to general (and massed) pre-game preparations. If he had been overseas then he should have been isolated before this late stage. If these factors apply, he is irresponsible and selfish, with aspirations of being bulletproof. If these parameters do not apply, it is very unfortunate and unlucky, yet in the past fortnight (the incubation period duration), he must have been in some circulation to have contracted the viral infection.

Sad news all around, whatever the circumstances. On a lighter note, perhaps Essendrug could see a crippling defeat looming against the Dees?

He was training with the team today!!!

That is the reason the game has been stopped.
He shouldn’t be anywhere near the team for 14 days

I'm no chemist but pretty sure there's no such thing in testing.

I shouldn't have repeated this bit of "Gil speak".

Low-grade fever?... yes.  False Positive?... yes.  Low-Grade positive...see "Gil Speak".  Please explain?

Happy to stand corrected.

No he wasn't, didn't train today, it was reported he didn't, if you must go off on one of your your over emotive rants, then get your facts straight first

Was Gil said otherwise apparently.  If (and it is a big if) Essendrug sent him into proper isolation on Friday and didn't let him near anyone till the Sat test was concluded, then I don't think they did anything wrong (it pains me to say).  On the other hand.....

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
