As much as Iโ€™d love this to happen, he has nothing to worry about. At most itโ€™s a fine. And tbh I reckon Boak has gone past Trac in the last few weeks

ย

Love to see Trac end the year on a high with a BOG effort this weekend. ย Heโ€™s had a great year. ย He might match Gus with a bronze medal in the Brownlow count.ย
ย

I think they have been managing his workloadย for the last 4 games and played him more as a forward/midfielder. ย

Anyone know if he polled the coaches votes?

neale has been average the last couple of weeks

Age votes for Dees v Giants were May, Langdon, Gawn, Petracca, Kelly. ย ย

AFL Website has Petracca as our 3rd best.
ย

He might sneak a vote especially with the goal he kicked to end the first quarter. ย
ย

ย

He was handy. Defender and rucks donโ€™t traditionally poll well so he is a good chance of one or two.

I donโ€™t think they release the coaches votes to the public for the last two rounds until after the winner is announced.ย

Yes is it so the coaches donโ€™t cheat a little and sneak in a vote for their man !ย

Definitely a Brownlow fancy, but I think he will finish 2nd orย 3rd behind Neale and maybe Boakย

Unfortunately I agree. Think Boak has gone past him. Letโ€™s hope both throw punches this week and cop a week ??

I could see him getting a vote for last game but yeah I'm thinking a podium finish at this stage.ย

Boak and Neale have played on their home ground this season, while Trac hasn't.ย  Hes done twice as much travel as either of them.

Tracs season has been way more impressive than either of them and he should be awarded an extra 10 brownlow votes for playing away all season while the other two guys played in Adelaide and Brisbane all year.

He may win it anyway but if he doesn't it will have a giant asterisk next to it.

Neale, Daylight, Boak, Jack Steele, Trac...

The coaches votes leader boarder after rnd 16:

  • 85 Neal
  • 69 Boak
  • 62 Petracca
  • 61 Steele
  • 58 T Adams
ย  ย

The votes for rnd 17 weren't published and rnd 18 votes will be held up until the Award announcement.

Neale will win.ย  Boake will probably get votes in the last few rounds as will Petracca and Steele.ย

So if the umpire's votes correlate to the coaches every chance Petracca is top 3 in the Brownlow.ย

Possibly a vote yesterday v bombers. ย

Strangely the bombers getting close might rob him of the vote as the umps might go with Langdon or Gawn and put Shiel in the voting.ย
ย

I actually think Trac has struggled over the last 5 weeks not in form but in fitness. ย I think he might have a slight injury that is being managed by goody and burgo. ย He had been put forward for a large section of games (like the Saints game) and whilst he has been good, he hadnโ€™t been in the engine room as much as earlier in the year. ย

Neale $1.25 favourite wow

Probably 3 votes again last night. ย Should have 24-25 votes. Wow indeed. In 17 rounds. ย  I see him as a clear winner from Boak, Steele, Danger & Trac.ย

Nothing a 2 week break won't fix !!!

If he plays well and we win more games the votes will take care of themselves.ย  Since he started well umpires will notice him more as that is human nature.

Surely you are not suggesting that some umpires are humanย ????

Not sure where else to put this.

A mate has messaged me saying Tom Browne has claimed Carlton is actively pursuing Petracca because apparently he is unhappy.

I called BS given he signed a contract in Feb. Plus search across Twitter, Bigfooty, Google, everywhere has yielded zero results. Nothing on Tom Browne Twitter either.

Asked him where he heard it and he's stalling. Is he pulling my chain?

Yes

Is Jack Steele to biggest danger to Neale? ย Saints won enough games and Steele was right in the heat of the action. Clearly no other player likely to take votes off him.ย
I think itโ€™s Neale, Steele, Boak and the Trac as top 4. ย No surprises there!ย

Reckon Boak finishes second. Trac and Steele I reckon finish within a vote or two of each other.ย

And Carlton in the mix again!

No wonder they are cold on DeGoey also.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this yearโ€™s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last seasonโ€™s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourneโ€™s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
