Which MFC players do you leave out of the hub

Featured Replies

Seems relatively certain that each club will be permitted to take around 32 players into the hub.

MFC has 38 players plus seven rookies.

The rookies include Lockhart and Dunkley just to mention two.

Who would you leave out of the hub?

Here's my attempt assuming you need to leave out 13 players:

Injured: Nietschke, Bennell KK, AVB, Preuss, Hannan and Smith (7)

Definitely out.... Mitch Brown, Josh Wagner, Hunt (3)

Probably: Baker,  Chandler, Jordon (3)

Leave Trac out as he will annoy the crap out of the rest locked in a hub!!!

I agree across all except imo

Brown is in, Bradtke is an out

by the way, do we have a forwards coach - if not, GET ONE (Egan or Rooke out!!)

Agree Bradtke out for Brown given that we have Weid and Jackson in the hub... our level of injury makes the choice relatively easy.... I suppose there has to be some upside (if you can call it that) in our misfortune

Won’t need hubs by the time the AFL gets going in June/July surely. If there is no secondary surge in infections, state borders will be open and there will be limited social interactions and there will have to be if teams are allowed to train together and play. If interstate travel is available this hub idea is defunct. If there is a secondary outbreak, there won’t be any footy this year.

There is a chance some players will withdraw of their own accord if they have young kids, expecting kids or family to care for.

First thing would be to ask the players and only include those that want to win. Anyone not interested would need bloody good reason.

But I tend to agree with Earl that the hub idea may be irrelevant.

I would be excited by the possible inclusions of any of Hannan, AVB and Bennell.

I'd leave out Goodwin.

You'd miss his corporate quotes desperately

Can't imagine a game without him lamenting our "connections going forward"

Leave out the worst 13 so that would be Dunkley, Bradtke, C.Wagner, Brown, Chandler, J.Wagner, Baker, Hunt, Neitschke, Jordon, Preuss, Kolodjashnij, Spargo

Bennell, Vandenberg, Hannan and Smith will be back by then and Preuss is already back.

I'd nearly leave Hibbo out for Jordan and include Bennell for a risk.

Surely you must gamble on youth and class in this instance.

Rivers Salem and Jetta plus Jones and Tomlinson can fill the HB flanks depending upon the opposition.

Also  Lever  Really is a floating  HB or Back Pocket.

Chandler misses out due to Kozzie and especially Bedford who is no 2 small on the list even ahead of Charlie Spargo.

they have not published the rules for replacements entering the hub after it is established but presumably it will require two weeks isolation from other players or similar. Other than Preuss who would be a maybe I wouldn't be taking any of the above into the hub unless they absolutely proved their fitness.

Cannot see what Preuss adds if Jackson and Weid are already there as back ups.

You also have to bear in mind that they are talking of three matches in each two week block so fitness of all in the hub is a very high priority.

Preuss is a must if Gawn is injured.

Outs:

KK, Nietschke (injured)

For me the rest would be:

Jordon, Hunt, Baker, Wagners (x2), Smith (no match fitness), Bradtke, Brown (assuming Petty is ready to go, or swap), Rivers.

If Bennell was aiming for the middle of the year then he might be on track, but it's a massive risk

Vanders is in the same boat given his constant injuries - it might be better to bring both in for the second hub (or whatever they do)
