Good on ya Nev and well done and best of luck to the debutantes.  May you have a win first up.

Anyone else find these elbow bumps etc a bit of a futile exercise, considering the number of sweaty, salivating players in packs, tackling opponents and all touching the same footy?

If the hoarders return all the toilet paper will things go back to normal?

No. I'm either going to need all of it to either cry into if we lose tonight, or (as @Bitter but optimistic would say) give myself a jolly good flogging should we win.

Bruise free football coming up for both teams... and fair enough.

There is genuinely no point playing.... perhaps someone can tell me what political mechanics allowed the football season to begin anyway.

Leave it all out on the park tonight boys! Break a leg & she'll be right to go by rnd 2

Go dees.

Thanks to all posters and huge thanks to Andy for keeping demonland going.

I am always positive during the preseason. Exciting we get another one. By golly we will be fit!

Go redleggers

Nope, you can include all of WA in that Blood!

Except you of course @Chook in Perth

Two points and WC go coast to coast from kickouts without us getting a touch

Bit late to the party but there’s nothing but strange feelings. Haven’t felt like this since the merger game in 96.

Poor kicking hurting us right now.

Nothing has changed from last year. Turnovers, short kicks to opposition. Unfunctional forward line.

Oh no. That game i was very angry and [censored] off. This game is a lot more insignificant for me.

OPPO waltzing out of the backline all day

Social distancing in our forwardline going strong. Nobody getting near it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
