Make him a staff member for the weekend.

WHy cant he sit up on the 3rd tier or something?

In fact why can t there be a few hundred people dispersed throughout a giant stadium for  at least some atmoshpere?

This isn't quite true as 'Tarax' did actually miss our two Fosters World Championship games in Vancouver back in 1987 which I like to remind him of. He does at least have the footy record I picked up there.

That is amazing, I wonder if there is anyone from any other club who can beat that.

Tarax Club appears to be based in Darwin by the looks of it so that would be a no.

Great idea. Deserves it. Amazing effort.

That’s probably Ron Blaskett or Happy Hammond; posthumously.

Yes, and I didn’t see him in Shanghai.

He should be knighted for turning up in 2012 and 2013.

He claims to only count 'official' games Hardtack. Was that game for premiership points?

Don’t forget Uncle Norman

No... but it should have been; we won it.

I reckon this proves he would be immune to COVID-19. Perhaps we should turn his blood into a vaccine.

Just when we were both thinking here we are marooned in Darwin fading into irrelevance and obscurity. After withdrawal of future MFC games in the top end 2019. Rab D Nesbitt has helped revive the Tarax brand somewhat by accident. Rab you may have recalled our claim of attending every Demons' game played in Darwin. Unfortunately though research at Demonwiki has proven that to be erroneous as an earlier match was played in the 90's which was temporally inappropriate for our presence. Pleased to read so many fond memories from other baby boomer posters. Anything to add some levity to your day!

Just spoke to a Geelong friend, he said Col Hutchinson (afl statistician) hasn't missed any Geelong game for premiership points since 1963 or any Geelong home game at all since 1958.

I went there for the first time last year for the Adelaide game. Arrived 1am Saturday and left again 1am Sunday. Don’t know what you’ve done wrong to have Gold Coast inflicted on you for the foreseeable future.

Zig and Zag? The Peters Ice-cream men. Who could forget their foray onto the Albert Park ground when the Dees played Sth Melbourne?

Portland's own Gary Hincks has not missed a single Footscray/Bulldogs game since 1974 and his running tally has passed 1,000 consecutive matches, including every interstate game.  All this without a car or driver's licence, mind you.  Legend!

I've met him at least once, at a pre-season game in Canberra.  Possibly Aaron Davey's first or second outing?

As I recall, he has been variously involved with the club over the years, particularly as a volunteer stats gatherer/validator.

Surely there's a way.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
