Finished ... will not play another game!!

UNFORTUNATELY

Fair enough opinion - but I did have a chuckle imagining someone yelling this, especially the "UNFORTUNATELY"

Too much hysteria about investing in talented injured players. 2/3rds of the list actually play - about 30-32/44. That's 12-14 who don't play.

If one of AVB, Bennell, KK or Smith make it then it's worth the risk IMO.

I've asked before but don't think I've had a reply. Has KK trained at all this year? If not, and he has no prospect of playing, surely we should re ruin another player?

I know we all love him as a bloke and the attitude he brings on field, but giving someone 3 years because you think you can get 1 year out of them seems pretty poor management to me.

Clutching at straws.  I clearly said that offering 3 years allowed for him to give us 2 years of onfield return.

This year is the 2nd of his extension.  Until last week, he was on track to deliver that, but went down with a contact injury.

AVB is a hard, tough big bodied boy and I love the way he goes about his footy but this could be a silver lining for someone else to fill his shoes who adds something different to the side.

I just saw that - AFL website. The MFC website is a sad, unfunny joke.

Lets hope the report is accurate and it is short term. I am firmly in the camp of those who think he is a terrific player. His combination of steadiness and hardness is fantastic.

Please take the AFLW news to a different place. Intermingling with the AFL on the MFC website is annoying.

Not necessary and irrelevant to AVB's current foot injury

what was true about avb in your post

  • AVB accidently kicked an opponent's leg when taking a kick early in the game...
  • he continued on but was limping.
  • It was the sort of accident that could happen to any player.
  • I understand the concerns!

you have never been the same room as the truth, your  post is all just your opinion and has no factual bearing on his injury

But relevant to the quoted reference: “The MFC website is a sad, unfunny joke”.

Not at all relevant. The quote was in regards to lack of information about injuries, a legitimate criticism.

Not the completely legitimate decision to host news relating to one of the club's teams on the club's website.

Oh, I agree with you. I think the lack of info coming out of the club sucks, especially regarding injuries.

I was just responding to someone insinuating the website was a sad, unfunny joke due to the presence of the AFLW news.

Missing the point mate.

Signed vB for 3 years. Ditched Kent who simply wanted more than 1 year.

It's at best, inconsistent.

I'm not saying Kent is a gun, I'm talking about the contract decisions based on both players outputs.

Kent was a party boy. Other reasons came into play.

Vandenbergs foot probably would of been at a high risk of exploding on the hard ground at optus oval anyway in R1. rest him up, he might come in handy as a battering ram later in the season.

If so he wasn't alone,  KLV.   There have been many in recent and not so recent memory.   And most, at least recently, were traded away.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
