Demonland 74,431 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Anyone know why Ironman Trevor Hendy & Big Wave Surfer Mark Visser were at Demons Training yesterday? 1 1 Quote
Demon3 2,541 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Is it because we are about to ride a wave of momentum all the way through to September? 4 1 1 7 Quote
Swooper 266 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 I presume going some work around breath holding (remember Tracc and his hypoxic blackout last year?) and mindset work, which is what Hendy does now. He has previously worked with the Saints as well. 3 2 Quote

Cards13 9,117 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Hendy does the well being stuff now, listen to his interview on The Howie Games Podcast if anyone is interested. 1 Quote
TheJam 23 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Mark Visser... While it seems weird can only be a good thing at our club. The man is a world leader in breath techniques and breath holding and staying calm under pressure and his training course has been undertaken by plenty of the WSL big wave gurus and WSL competitors including one very recent trainee, the GOAT, Robert Kelly Slater. 3 4 Quote

Anyway, back to the footy 3 1 1 Quote

Anyway, back to the footy I loved coming home from school in winter and pouring hot milk over a bowl of Weet-Bix, make them all mushy and throw on some sugar or honey. TV on, kick back. Simpler times. 2 Quote

spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Visser probably will talk about pressure and how to compose yourself. Obviously there is a focus on our mental well being and helping players on the field and off the field. Good call MFC. 1 Quote

Hendy did a fair bit of work with Buckley as the Pies. I'd imagine there's some Pert influence there. Quote
Demons1858 1,823 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 (edited) l think Visser's 'holding your breath' course should be a compulsory part of any mfc membership package. God knows we could have used it watching some of the decision making and kicking last season eg frost and a few others Edited March 4, 2020 by Demons1858 2 6 Quote
Traja Dee 108 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Mark and Trevor are working for the Demons this year, dealing with elite mindset. They’ve created a company called SALT, which stands for Speaking and Leading Truth. i for one was unaware of this until I saw the photos. Indicates that plenty of stuff occurs in the background that we fans don’t get to see, not that we should expect anywhere near 100% transparency anyway. 4 2 Quote

Fork 'em 7,052 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Yeah, Ovaltine's good too and Chocolate Quik also gets it done. Quote
Demonland 74,431 Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 Akta-vite was my preferred topping. The original formula not the new one. 1 Quote
Fork 'em 7,052 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Actually preferred Akta-Vite to Ovaltine. But been a long time since I've had either. Quote
Grr-owl 1,258 Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Remarkable level of agreement around this topic.... See, Mum, the internet isn't all bullies and porn! 1 Quote
