Is it because we are about to ride a wave of momentum all the way through to September?

I presume going some work around breath holding (remember Tracc and his hypoxic blackout last year?) and mindset work, which is what Hendy does now. He has previously worked with the Saints as well.

A big wave.

Hendy does the well being stuff now, listen to his interview on The Howie Games Podcast if anyone is interested.

Mark Visser... While it seems weird can only be a good thing at our club. The man is a world leader in breath techniques and breath holding and staying calm under pressure and his training course has been undertaken by plenty of the WSL big wave gurus and WSL competitors including one very recent trainee, the GOAT, Robert Kelly Slater.

How can you not love a guy that eats 14 Wheat Bix.

When I was a teenager I did 15 regularly. 5 lots of 3 Weet-Bix bowls. Bit of sugar and a good serving of milk. It was important to have the biscuits wet but not too soggy...

Anyway, back to the footy

I loved coming home from school in winter and pouring hot milk over a bowl of Weet-Bix, make them all mushy and throw on some sugar or honey. TV on, kick back. Simpler times.

The Rolling Stone references on this site have been out of control recently

Visser probably will talk about pressure and how to compose yourself.  Obviously there is a focus on our mental well being and helping players on the field and off the field. Good call MFC.

l think Visser's 'holding your breath' course should be a compulsory part of any mfc membership package. God knows we could have used it watching some of the decision making and kicking last season eg frost and a few others

Mark and Trevor are working for the Demons this year, dealing with elite mindset. They’ve created a company called SALT, which stands for Speaking and Leading Truth.
i for one was unaware of this until I saw the photos. Indicates that plenty of stuff occurs in the background that we fans don’t get to see, not that we should expect anywhere near 100% transparency anyway.

Can’t recall ever having them so might need to give them a shot.

Vita Brits all the way, no sugar but sprinkled with Milo.

Agree. But half milo/half ovaltine

Yeah, Ovaltine's good too and Chocolate Quik also gets it done.

 Actually preferred Akta-Vite to Ovaltine.
But been a long time since I've had either.

Remarkable level of agreement around this topic.... See, Mum, the internet isn't all bullies and porn!

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
