    It's a Casey fill in wearing the #30 guernsey.


    Lockhart and Melksham playing very well. Brayshaw is rusty.

    I think Gus expected Spargo to be close enough to handball to. Spargo was ball watching and Gus has a bad elbow.

    He gone done holding the ball, playing like he would in an AFL game. He got it wrong footed then turned to give the handball back to the guy who should have been running past, but there was no one there. Being fairly harsh with the comparison to Tyson there wwsw

    Spargo is looking better than last week.I havent seen much of Jordan yet, hope to see him get involved.

    I've been impressed (in little bits I've been able to watch) in general with the overlap play, guys kicking/handballing then following up the immediate play. It hasn't always worked and some of the skills aren't great, but that shows better intent of ball movement even without our best players.

    Gus had been quiet. And rusty.

    Baker has been good with some run and dash on the wing. More game time and i can see him playing senior footy soon.

    Spargo has been good.

    Pickett has had around 7 touches of the ball and already kick 0.2, he'll play round 1.

    Geez we are bloody spoiled these days. Only a couple of years back we would have been relying on a "Lander at the game relaying updates via phone for a mate to post.

    Great that we can see our kids in action live and free.

    He's done some nice things. The intercept mark was very good.

    We haven't had Kossie's pressure in the forward line for a very long time. He's worth a couple of goals a game even without touching the pill.

    I thought he wasnt good last week. This week he is running to the right spots - mainly. Holding marks and kicking accurately. generally being quite good. he couldve been there for Gus when Gus was looking for a HB target, though.

    11 scoring shots to 5. That's 6 more, with 5 of them being quite simple set shots. I know it's only a practice match, bit I'm quite disapointed with that. We need to improve our accuracy for the season proper or we'll lose a few games off our own boot.

    Poor kicking skills is our biggest issue IMO.

    • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

      Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

      The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

      The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

    • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

      The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
