I think they're in the same boat as us in terms of listed players being available for this game.

Yep, just slipped over to Bomber Blitz (it's ok, I've showered since) and they sound very much like us and will be relying on a few members that are attending to give updates. I wonder if the Demon twitter feed might get a workout?

As a side note; I don't make a habit of visiting other fan sites but my clear impression is; none of them come close to the functionality and visual excellence of DL. Kudos to you Andy.

I'd be disappointed if it didn't. Hopefully a few of the Demonland faithful will be there to fill in any gaps.

I spoke today to an Essendon insider who feels that the Bombers will field a reasonable squad. Given that this will be their best team because they don’t have a Marsh Cup game over the weekend, they should be too strong for our second string team missing a large number of players through injury.

That smells like you are preparing us for a big loss WJ.

Sounds like it too!

Yes difficult to see us putting up a competitive game.

I will still go but would like to have an idea of what Melbourne players will be playing.

Given they're not in the team or 8 man bench for the Crows game tomorrow or they're injured.

Any of the following could play

Bedford

Jordon

Rivers

Hunt

Hore

Chandler

C Wagner

Bradtke

How’s the weather down there dl?

Tell me, what would be a bigger worry (Not for us)? Basically a seconds Melbourne getting flogged? Or a decent Essendon side fighting a hard fought win and only winning by a couple of goals?

Cue the usual suspects still slashing their wrists over losing the game by 8 goals when we're only fielding a small handful of AFL listed players.

Going along with our pre season theme, have we started an hour early, before oppo arrives, and built up a big lead yet?

We have, but so far we've kicked 10 points and 4 out on the full.

Players are in full panic mode.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
