Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Goldrick’s first taste of Aussie Rules

Thought this was a great little segment.

I could only understand every second or third word, but jokes aside, it's quite a coupe for the MFC women's side to have recruited a three time galic premiership player.  Also really liked the little bit where she states that there was a bit of rough stuff but "she likes that anyway, so it's allright" - exactly the attitude we want from our MFC women's and men's teams!

Great win!

I've loved both games from Zanker this year. She's got a great future in this comp. Size, pace, good decision making, overhead marking and kicking; what's not to like? (You may recall the set shot goal she made last year as a teenager from 45 out on the boundary late in the 3rd against the Bulldogs.)

Also liked the games of Shelley Scott, Kate Hore, Shelley Heath, Maddie Gay, Aleisha Newman, Meg Downie and Libby Birch.

It's been a great start for us given the loss of three key players with season ending knee injuries before round 1 (Lauren Pearce, Katherine Smith and Shae Sloane). Add to it that Bianca Jakobsson decided to join the police force just before season start and Lily Mithen is still yet to play.

The structures and game plan seem good this year. There's a clear to plan to put our leadership strength to halfback (Paxman, O’Dea and Daisy Pearce).

Highlight was Zanker's contested give to Paxman for a right foot snap.

Can't wait for Hore to kick straight and Newman to get some still, dry playing conditions.

Sad news for Ainslie Kemp for her third long term knee injury.

Have to say I like your call on Zanker. Haven't watched the full games, but her highlights have been fantastic.

Mithen will add some nice pace and desperation to the side and I always enjoy watching Newman ;)

Cant remember the name, but the running with the ball punch forward that resulted in a goal?. Gutsy. Reiwoldt courage gutsy.

Great start to the AFLW season. May it continue.

Eden Zanker has also been great in the ruck too - some really good taps to advantage. At the very least she clears the ball from the immediate stoppage area.

Casey Sherriff has been good too.

I have no idea where to put this but another reason to like women’s footy. No way in the world this happens in the men’s game. All too homogenised, pasteurised, cleansed, disinfected and scripted

And what about the back and forth between Libby Birch ( ex bulldog )  and the dogs coach.

He didn't hold back on what he thought of her efforts at the dogs. It all went a bit quiet  after that but the bulldogs girls by their actions made their feelings known during the match.

What did the Bulldogs coach say pineapple? Birch said something about cracks appearing in the Dogs playing list or something?

Well, he said in not so many words the cracks were caused by Libby Birch and that she was the most selfish player he'd ever coached. This was probably after Birch's post game interview Friday where she implied there was a rift in the Bulldogs playing group.

A bit of a touchy subject by the sounds of it.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
