Itโ€™s not about aesthetics, itโ€™s about functionality. Which the Jack Dyer Stand was never going to be again.

Aren't they going to reuse elements and materials from the old Jack Dyer stand in the new stand? If it is well designed and executed with taste it could be a win for new modern facilities with a nod to its history as well. Lets see what it looks like when finished.

If this were true we wouldnโ€™t have spent half a century looking for a training ground.

You chastise me for comparing punt road with the mcg only to come up with this.

Our challenge has not been to do with Heritage overlays but rather trees and dog walkers, both of which seem to be more difficult to circumnavigate.

And we thought we had training ground problems

In the NRL the Roosters and Rabbitohs are having an all out war it seems....

South Sydney have now asked the NSWRL to reconsider its position and believes the Roosters junior representative program is an extension of the junior league.

The Rabbitohs are arguing that their juniors are being enticed to join the Roosters because of the convenience of having the training facility in their area.

The Roosters have provided $200,000 of funding to provide lighting and improve the schoolโ€™s sporting facilities.

The Rabbitohs have submitted a formal application to have the Roosters banned from training in their backyard and are awaiting a response from the NSWRL.

The references are to the junior teams

...and some people want to go back to zones.

The sooner we move on ridding ourselves of academies & F & S the better.

The moral of that story was to point out your dribble. ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ

How can that stand at Punt Road not have a heritage protection?

It was, then it wasn't. Then the National Trust came in and tried to stop Richmond knocking it down.

But Richmond starting talking about it helping local community, women's football, indigenous groups and foundations and it was a battle they'd never win.

Happened to be in the committee room at Caulfied yesterday when J Kanga, during a pre-lunch speech, said in the future at Caulfied, there will be the MRC, and there will also be the MFC. I nearly fell off my chair. No details were given, he was just addressing his Demons loving mate at the time who I think heads up Mornington race track. My wife had to assure me l wasn't hearing things. Unfortunately didn't speak to him in person but hey, maybe things are well progressed like a couple on here have mentioned???

They're kinda on their own turf though so to speak.

To celebrate 40 years since being kicked off the G by the MCC and not having a home base since, i'll be posting a hit song each week from 1985. First cab off the rank...

No need to, as they own their land on the West side of the course and the Dees will be on Crown land on the South East Corner and also with an oval or two in the middle of the track, also on Crown land.

The school and the MFC are in total alignment and that is from the horseโ€™s mouth .

So good to hear some positive news in this space.... it could really make or break our club... just can't wait for a official update on progress

I heard from senior execs at MRC a while back (1 year +) that the MRC and trust were all good with MFC coming on board but the dees just had to stump up the cash. โ€œSomeone needs to help pay for the new grandstandโ€ was the comment (or along those lines).

That's good news if the MRC are OK with us - however it's a hollow comment, as they have no say in our project. Our plan does not involve any money for building grandstands for the MRC. The MFC plan does not envisage any grandstands at all - because our ovals are inside the track.

Selling the stables land to the school has achieved that.
