Folks decrying the various negative reactions to this news certainly have a point. It is obviously a step in the right direction. 
 

But even though I’ve seen our lack of base as the most glaring stain on our club’s metaphorical tuxedo, any potential jubilation is tempered by the fact that this is a solution to a tediously-long problem that should have never occurred in the first place.

four teams with different programs able to experience different environments and tailor the training based upon different set-ups is the ideal situation for the years, decades, and hopefully centuries to come

The concept art is appealing. We definitely need a Melbourne Football Club history museum for our thirteen (and future) VFL/AFL Premiership Cups!

I am expecting we as Melbourne members will have to pay for a significant portion of it. They should of started the Home Base fund in 2021 after our Premiership. We would of all been very enthusiastic!

Either way, I expect a few fund raising events like the "Debt Demolition" back when Jimmy Stynes was Melbourne Demons President.

All I suggest, is that the outside of our Home Base buildings are red and dark blue similar to our jumper. A bit like the style they have at Punt Road for Richmond with the yellow and black.

And AFLW which I think you might have meant instead of VFL.

I've only been to Melbourne a handful of times but always found Fitzroy Gardens to be quite pleasant. And just a short stroll from the east end of Collins for our fans to attend training.

I have to agree.  We got conned into virtue signalling all the whiles the AFL say one thing and do another.

Anyway...we are where we are and with any luck that will one day be Caulfield. 

A new beginning.  And in many ways I do see it as just that....a wonderful opportunity for a real re-set.

It needs to be kept in mind.  That this is Crown Land. It’s leased.  We will not own it, will perhaps own the building.  We can take it with us when we leave.

For one reason or another , as it were, I'll put aside the funding issue...if there is one.

The idea of permits etc can be the quagmire. That said if G.E. is indeed onboard ( at least atm in their current guise ) this may not prove much of an impediment.  If they truly are happy to see this unfold then they'll  just stamp it and stand aside. 

Back to money. I have a suspicion it's been hard  for the club to lock money/grants/commitment in as there's actually been no location to allocate to. Lots of iffy in the clouds stuff in the past. Here we have a location, heads of agreements, concepts and preliminary designs....I.e something specific. 

I don't see $$$ as being any problem. 

From a "build" perspective  much could be done simultaneously as two distinct parts/sites. 1) Admin and Training 2) Ovals/Pav .

Should be able to do 18mnths/2y wo to go once greenlit.

We're  not building docklands  here...  it's not that complicated.
