i don’t need to see a video of how we have come back from hell. We are still there until we win consistently.
what i am sick and tired of is hollow promises.
be quiet, lie low and DO what needs to be done.

See, he just doesn't get it, as a friend of mine often says "you can't put brains in monuments"

That's unfair of me, for clarity; It's not about you, it's   a    PROMO.

Big statement there mate.
i have made 100’s of Promos. I know what they are. And that is exactly why i do not like the timing of this one.
it’s too early.
and if others disagree so be it.
but this time i agree with Cornes. You don’t.
maybe i am older than you, and have seen more false dawns.

Nothing wrong with positivity and heightened expectations.
Let’s expect to do well and attack the [censored] out of 2020

Are you still in that line of work?

Sorry, but agreeing with Cornes doesn't really strengthen your argument. He's a flo* of the first order, is only interested in generating click bait and reaction to further his profile and is a great example of where the media has descended to. You have been forthright in saying you have some exposure to the media, so summing up your analysis of "our" promo what is your SWOT analysis and the great harm you see in this promotion.

I doubt you've seen more false dawns, I was 8 the last time we won a premiership.

You Did what????????

Watched all last years games??

I would call that PURE UNADULTERATED TORTURE!!

Yes, watching them was a form of torture. I did it for a couple of reasons. First, I was ill and stuck in bed for a few days so I had the time. Second, I wanted to see the games without the emotion that comes when watching them live.

I found that we were a long way off it. Yes, injuries to key players and the interrupted pre-season were key factors in our failure. But be Yong that... we were beaten over the back too often, just like we were in the early games of 2018. (How they hadn't fixed that over the last pre-season is a mystery to me.) Frost was not the great backman many consider. That Hore is miles away from being an AFL player. That Oliver was great at getting the ball but terrible disposing of it with short handballs to teammates who were under pressure. That Brayshaw seemed disinterested. That Jones often looked past it. That we quickly ran out of steam. That the midfield didn't run. That most of our new boys, Sparrow, Lockhart, Dunkley need to improve enormously to have an impact. That Weideman (when he played) just doesn't get the ball enough. That Gawn and  Petracca were great after a slow start to the season.  I could go on, but you might have stopped reading by now.

If we were, say, 20% off the pace last year, and other teams improve 5% on 2019, we'll need to improve by at least 25% to succeed in 2020. Here's hoping.

Thanks Mooney, nothing like you to put a cloud over something.

In future don't interrupt when I'm trying to hook a fish.

I think all those years working at the ABC, and seeing how the current government has tried to destroy the ABC by cutting funding, has given you a very negative mind set.

Jesus h Christ i hope I’m never that sick, glad you’ve made it back from deaths door or “From Hell and Back!”

I don't know why people want to read and take any notice of what fwits like cornes write or say, all clubs put out stuff during the year to talk themselves up.

how very insightful

I thought this kind of propaganda disappeared with Schwab and Whiteboard Wednesday. Nothings changed. We are talking as well as walking the crap. Should have shut up until we actually achieve something positive.

Exactly...

I find it amazing that people can pot the Club about the name of a doco they haven't seen and have no idea what it contains.

No bias here. And still others pot the doco.

Go figure.

You don't want to read too much into the title until you see the doco.  What if the doco takes the line we have been in hell and presents the 'back' bit as a struggle /process / aim but not something accompished?

It is unusual to review a doco without having seen it.  And what was that saying about books and covers and judging?

Could not agree more. It's far easier to predict outcomes after they've happened!

I disagree completely. In a perfect world we would have the luxury of not needing to overhype but in reality we have to do anything we can to sell as many memberships as possible. If we have another terrible season, won't have mattered whether we were quiet or loud now. Have to do everything we can to retain as much of the membership base as possible or we'll just lose more ground.

Piffle. Memberships mean little to AFL clubs.

Agreed

I can't wait to see the first episode, change your name to president of the MFCSS trump said, you lot have no idea what's in the doco  about, like most people you read the headline and not the story, and judge it without the whole context. It's the biggest problem in the media today.

I think a question mark at the end of the title would fix everything.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
