Only because you will have had an entire bottle of Johnny green, and you have no bladder control.

Just a gentle reminder.....

The last goal sums up why he is so dangerous. Marks it goal side of the wing (nice kick to him by the by), runs to 60, has one thought in mind, and effortlessly slots it.

Love how straight his kicks are too.

I have a question.   Did he have an opponent,  seemed to be by himself most of the time !!

Does it matter? From memory he also had 30+ possessions that game. Put a tagger on him and it's one less that Oliver has to worry about.

If he said that it's already been decided.

Welcome back to the (silent) big time Harley. Bloody shame you cant return in front of 50,000 screaming Dees fans, but enjoy the game anyway. Your family should be very proud of your personal and professional turnaround.

He was a fantastic player but after all of his injury woes and time out, I wouldn't be expecting a hard tag on Bennell, at least early on.

Hopefully he gets a few early touches and his self confidence skyrockets.

If he plays you can expect ratings to peak early, reckon there will be alot of interest, I think it has been said before but this is 'The Natural' all over again.

Am so so excited, MFC should be proud of the staff for getting him on the field.

The thing is if he stays fit he will be top ten in the bluey, his skills are sublime and his delivery will allow others to play to their strengths.

I’m already over-excited about the game on Saturday.

To see Bennell on the team sheet will escalate my excitement to levels I’ve not experienced since I was a kid.

Make. It. Happen.

Serious question - have we ever had a player like Harley Bennell on our list?

A skilled midfielder?  Sure. Someone who has never played a final? We’ve had plenty of both.

In my time since supporting the club since 1998 then no I personally I haven't.

Could have easily won a brownlow had he not been dogged by injuries..

Really? Only 1 player in 720-odd wins the Brownlow each year... he has had a handful (at most) of excellent games in his career.

Travis Johnstone says hi by the way.

Quite correct, he’s Harley Bennell.                                                                                                             (And Mozart wasn’t Beethoven)!

Travis was one of my all time favourite players.

That said, Bennell seems to be a different type of player. He’s more powerful for a start.

If he has done the work then he plays. There is no point holding him back just in case and he is not the type you need to wait to build form in some pre game hit n giggle. I have always thought whatever you get out of him this year is a bonus and getting him to a Dees debut is a major milestone in itself. I think we all need accept that in a normal year let alone the shortened season ahead there is a high chance there Will  still be some hurdles along the way and just enjoy the ride.

He is talented as Chris Judd. Maybe more.

He is that good.

I've experienced this kind of excitement for a club debut a couple of times in the not too distant past... Aaron Davey and Liam Jurrah.  Davey... well, we all know what he was capable of and what he became.  Jurrah on the other hand could have been anything.  He was a player who through his own failings (more than anything else), never got the chance to show what he was really capable of; but the glimpses that he did show, were stunning (I was fortunate enough to see him at his best in the China game).

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
