Foxfooty.com.au understands Melbourne is not expected to bid on the Patrick Cripps clone, favouring West Australian Luke Jackson with their Pick 3.

I wonder if the Giants would rate Jackson higher than Green? would they match a bid with pick 3?

in any case, i doubt they would do this if they thought there was any real chance of us bidding.

Logic says they wouldn't have done this trade now if they didn't either rate Jackson, Young or some other player ahead of Green OR if they are convinced we won't bid on Green.

Otherwise they are mad to not wait until draft night and have flexibility to trade up or down as required.

In this video Jackson stating he's been told he's likely going to Melbourne, Adelaide, Freo or Giants. With Giants latest move trading up for Green you can rule them out. It would be unreal if Sydney, Adelaide and Freo passed on him so we could get Young and Jackson.

Just ignore Nic Nat making light of his past draft experience. Welp....

Not at all impossible either. Crows want Stephens. Swans want Flanders and Dockers i think will pick Robertson. so it's really down to what the Giants do with pick 4.

if Young gets past them i reckon we'll get him at 8. if not i'd say it'll be Lachie Ash

Young won't simply last to 8. Crows and Swans are hot on Young and will pounce if he is there.

I don't think we have made it known, but I think GWS are basically saying if it came to it, they would take Jackson over Greene

Maybe trying to bluff??

Green sounds like a gun

So I wonder what trade value we will get when he wants to return home in 3 years? I think we should be drafting VIC boys who suits our needs more.

Young, serong, ash, Kemp, weightmen

Gotta go with Young just a No No Brainer in a list with limited skills he stands heads and shoulders above all except perhaps Salem and Melky!

There is only one situation where we would reveal we would not bid for Greene and that is only to GWS after they agreed to trade a valuable player to us in the future. Getting Greene and whoever they pick at 4 is just too valuable to them to take a risk.

Not keen on Jackson at 3 or 8 for that matter. Very hard to judge big bodied guys against tiny teens IMO. The ruck position is a very overrated position, how many times did Gawn dominate the ruck last year and we were still smashed in clearances. He's a big boy playing against kids and comparisons to colts games are even worse. Plus we don't need a ruckman, Tigers won a flag with Nankervis and Grigg. When was the last time a dominant ruckmen helped their team win a flag, you'd probably have to go back to Ottens at the Cats and Keating before that?

We do need a KPF goalkicker (that I'm shocked we didn't try or be linked to one), unsure if this guy can fulfill that role? What we do need is clean kickers (not handball machines), fast decision makers, strong overhead and can hit the scoreboard. Who that leaves I'm not sure.

Taylor needs to pull a rabbit (a grade star) out, not impressed by his recruiting so far, he fluked Oliver, but jury is still out on him IMO.

On the limited vision I've seen, perhaps Young and Kemp? Also could Anderson be a chance with pick 3 somehow?

Which jury is out on Oliver??? nothing wrong with oliver, just the game plan.

You need to understand how the facts are being bent to suit his theory. If we get a poor outcome from the draft you have no idea, a good one is a fluke.

Not sold on Jackson. Easy to look good at that level... hard to predict at AFL. Weid look good at the same stage. I am wondering why the media are trying to drive up his value.

Weed was injured for most of his draft year and they are completely different players.

I’ve heard today Jackson will be the one at 3.

Feels like Lucas Cook all over again. Massive reach.

Feels a bit more like Clayton Oliver.

(not saying it will turn out the same way, but he was a real bolter in the lead up to the draft after not even playing in the nationals)

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
