Obviously puts in the scarf to match her date at the footy!

Brand is a marketing term, and meaningless, culture is another thing all together and we do not have it  Hardwick is a balanced person, Goody not so much.

Brand also means game style.

And no one is saying our culture is perfect.

Don't put words into our mouths.

I think we need to take as many positives out of todays game as possible. At least GWS have dethroned us to take out the most recent horrendous finals performance.

THANK FUGGIN CHRISTMAS!

But GWS the Frankenstein of the AFL PSEUDO EXPANSION!

Lowest goals for a zillion years!!!

Suck on that AFL...

Enjoy ur night Polo player!

GWS HORRENDOUS and loved every minute of it!

Well done tiges.

Hey Goody were u watching!??

Marlon Pickett reminded me of Michael Long.
Probably the way he held the ball with arms extended.
First gamer did well.
Lock him in for SC rookie next year.

Do not tell me what to do. We do not have an AFL game style anyone respects so less talk about brand the better.

The same Lily Mithen whose "...grandfather’s cousin is Laurie Mithen – a Melbourne great, who played in five premierships and was named in the club’s team of the century".

The same Lily Mithen who grew up in Geelong.

The same Lily Mithen who turned down Geelong to play in their AFWL team to stick wtih the Demons.

See wwsw post below.  Her dad was a Richmond Board member.

Doubt she was going to wear a GWS scarf.

yep...her dad!

If most of us went to a non-demon GF we would probably support one of the teams and maybe even wear their colours - especially if a family member is involved with the club.  Didn't Jones where red and white when he watched little bro play his GF.

She has stayed true to the demons when given a chance to leave.  She didn't.  Says it all really.

Good to catch up today, @Return to Glory

With Burgess on board, top 4 next year, mate. You gotta believe!

Enjoy Tokyo. If you can, visit an old haunt of mine, Inokashira Park. A welcome oasis in the concrete jungle.

Top 4 it is Ben E. You told me this season was an aberration and I'm willing, albeit reluctantly, to accept your wisdom on the matter. Burgess, yeah that's his name.  And Inokashira Park it is.

If Marlon Pickett came to us he would have been just another inconsequential nobody.

Anyone live near Swan St?

Reading some of the celebrations got out of hand last night, flares, burning of cardboard signs mocking Toby Greene on rooftops, fans headbutting, punching and biting cops.

We wouldn’t make it anywhere to celebrate if we won a flag soon, we’d pass out at the G from all the excitement.

We need to analyse the success of Richmond, Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn and other big clubs with successful winning cultures.

It took 37 years for Richmond to break it's Premiership drought. We are coming up to 55-56 years for our Premiership drought.

We are only going to break the drought with lots of hard work, having good quality football people involved with our club and recruiting the right players.

I am still keen in getting Mark "Choco" Williams involved at the Melbourne Football Club.

Lots of money will help too.

Not denying they're a big club but I reckon Richmond now has as many faux supporters as Hawthorn when they were travelling. And that's saying something.

Norm Smith saying ...”To him, teamwork was all. He firmly maintained that 'weak men can't win premierships'.

Hopefully GWS do a thorough review of the GF and change their game plan completely or they’ll end up in the bottom 4 next year

Or they'll follow MFC's Baldrick plan of not reviewing a thrashing in a final at all!! That worked !!!

Yes to Williams, but I dont think Goody would want a powerful figure like that.

I'd have GWS above us for a decent first quarter and keeping the Tigers goalless if it werent for a dodgy free kick to Riewoldt and a very late Rioli goal. Our prelim would've been x10 as horrendous if it was a GF

I don't think we would've got any junktime goals either. WCE would not have left anything in reserve for the following week and would've wanted to kick a half of celebratory goals.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
