Grew up playing rugby. No wonder, he is not soft, like so many other AFL players are.

It's as though someone sat down and wrote out a list of non contentious puff pieces stating the obvious.

Give me a few moments and I will try to guess the next one

I think I can already guess it - "Spargo raring to go for preseason to recapture 2018 form".

You cant make strawberry jam out of treacle.  He is too slow as a forward.  His only hope is GWS Mummy type replacement.  I like Preuss, but he is no 2nd ruck.  Rhys Stanley is built much better for 2nd ruckman.

Taylor Walker is a prime example of a forward that needs to kick 4 to warrant the ease that defenders can waltz out without pressure.

We are paying for idiotic D-grade decisions.

really sick of the BS the propaganda arm of the MFC churns out. AVB is over his injuries, Preuss can be an effective forward, Brayshaw better for a poor year, Goodwin can do the job.. etc The only heads that roll are the ones that we can afford to get rid of. They should start with the hyperbole riddled publicity department. Not worth reading until the team get on the field next season and prove something. The team is not helped by believing the BS and the expectation puts more pressure on them and makes supporter disappointment worse. Just shut up and get on with the job, we will all see the results.

I really don't know what you guys expect.  Of course there will be these 'puff' pieces.  What would you write if you were in the PR department?  If they upset you so much, just don't read them.  You know what they will say, so save yourselves the grief and don't look.

I would not build false hope, at this point there is nothing to write about. I don't usually read them, my issue is why are they paid to be written in the first place. I do not see a positive from them. Why does Demonland promote them at all? Is it just for those desperates that have blind faith that we can win a GF in the preseason?

I have a goof feeling this bloke is fully committed to becoming a very good AFL player. I will be looking to see a new body shape over the next two years.

They are written because filling air space seems to be compulsory these days.  They'd get stick from elsewhere if they didn't.  It is perfectly reasonable that Demonland 'promotes' them - just to bring to forum members attention what's being said by or about the team.

Preuss has the makings of becoming a very handy player and his improvement will come from holding marks. Period! That is his down fall.  Suggest that a glove might help and if not try the sticky stuff on your hands,  i am talking about superglue.

He is in the right age bracket 24 and has time to learn his craft from the Master of crafts Gawny. There is great hope for his future.

When you look at the effective big guys in the comp, they are mobile around the ground and good in the air and on the ground. They also have a good footy brain.

Braydon has some work to do.

That’s what last years Preseason was for.

4 months is a long time with the right teaching.

I have no idea what the MFC did in that time. The lack of preparation on all levels is quite scary really

Record Membership numbers and we are presented with a VFL side at best.

Fair comment.

At the same time, we had a substandard list per se. Form and Injuries just made it worse..

You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

We had just come off winning 2 Finals. A club with Fight in it’s DNA would be raring to go.

We once again retreated in a heap....

And I bet you first bounce Round 1, 2020 he's lining up as first ruck for Casey not as a forward. If we're going to have a Reserves team it needs to be used for development, not to try and win an increasingly meaningless cup.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
