I miss the days prior to 1996 when games like this one weren’t televised and you’d get the 90 seconds highlights package on channel 7’s Sports World the next day.

We’d be spared the embarrassment of national TV exposure.

The good news is if we continue like this we’ll be back to those Halcyon Days

I am looking forward to the country football-esque score of the larger regional town, vs the township that we used to get on the ABC Country Football League Wrap Up on Saturday evenings.

And, in the Western District Football League

Heywood:  37.16

Bessiebelle: 0.3

and the Dee's are Bessiebelle ;)

Geez I will miss the lack of effort, skills and consistency from the team.

Thank the good lord the season is over.

Now to the good stuff ( trading speculation)

I wouldn’t be too sure of that. I tuned into last night’s game expecting Collingwood to kick a cricket score against Essendon and they struggled to shake them off until after three quarter time.

On second thoughts, it was a cricket score being close to what the Poms managed in their first innings.

Everything in moderation - it was lovely in 2018 not having trade speculation as the most exciting part of the year... but we are back to what we know and love best :)

We all hope the Dees win but for a team that is broken, with no leadership, no coaching clues and no pride playing the last game of the year in sub zero conditions you would have to say the Kangas by 85 with Brown kicking 14

At the conclusion of today's game I would ask we all observe a minutes silence. In respect of the death of another Melbourne Season

MFC building this as a "Chance to say thanks to Lewy"... just like our chance to say thanks to Roosey, expecting a 100 point flogging

Thanks Andy....made me laugh

Is that the Doomsday clock?

Ben Brown could quite possibly beat Fannings record today.

Exactly.

We showed a complete lack of appreciation for Roos in his farewell game. Can’t see us giving a continental in Lewis’s farewell - particularly after he gave the players a deserved parting shot.

Shows where we are at a club right now when everyone’s expecting an 80 + point flogging against a mediocre team that finishes 10th - 13th every year.

I have no enthusiasm  for  game.

I will watch it until it becomes obvious either we will get a jolly good flogging or Ronald McDonald head just pisses me off.

At the risk of sounding in anyway positive the team on paper doesn’t look to bad. Clearly CHF is an issue but Preuss at full forward structurally look so much better. If he can just compete the like of Melksham; Fritsch; Petracca could kick a winning score. Just why we haven’t used Preuss in this role with the absence of key forwards defies any comprehension. He showed against the Swans early in the season a rare win the impact he can have. I do try to be positive but then I see Wagner and JKH and tell myself to get a grip on reality.

Because he lasted about 1 quarter, he drops marks and is not agile.  Hopefully the off season can start to change this.

Haha, you might be on the money bb but I'm hoping to last for a few stubbies at least.

So 7 minutes, then.

Don't want to restrict myself buck but, one thing's for sure, I reckon it will be fairly early when I switch to shiraz.

Wonder if I will be able to change stations from Sydney and saints.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
