With all due respect to the Gold Coast Suns and Tony Cochring, if you're delisting a player like Jarryd Lyons, you can't be given a priority pick.

Yep and further this kid was on Melbourne Radar and we inexplicably overlooked him! His Dad was Marty Lyons whose first game of AFL VS Hawks netted him 4 goals I think on debut! Kid can play!

Great to see Stefan Martin give a great performance in the ruck. Though he had less than average opposition as Geelong rely on Dangerfield and Co to win the clearances the hard way he changed his game up in the last 15 minutes in the stop start finale. He mixed it up beautifully with great tap work, out muscling his opponents and powerful knock ons to give his players the advantage to charge back from 18 points down. GAWN TAKE NOTE!  Also where once he was labeled as being a bit soft, he is now a tackling machine and 15 of his 16 possessions were contested. Fagan has turned  him into an awesome weapon.

Derwayne is out of control with Carlton love today.

I saw the last 10 or so minutes of this match and was disgusted by the pro Carlton commentary.

I still can't understand that we let Howe go.  I get he held out for more coin wanted to play mote time forward etc but he was coming on nicely and just maturing.  Who cares just find the $.  Couldve freed up some cap by delisting the likes of O-Mac & ANB etc.

We put so much work in then let him wander down the road to star and sure up the Pies backline.

Great X factor mark/intercept player and we have very few now who can muster a contested mark.

Crazy club that just doesn't get it in so many ways.

I am more disgusted with their desire to win unlike us.

Why would you hang on to an intercept defender when you can give up two first rounders for one with bad knees?

@Rusty Nails - 'Mate'  - it's never the club as a whole per se  - it's individuals decision making at the time... it's a fallacy to mix the two.

Im pretty sure it was more of him wanting to leave and get success somewhere else. He grew up a pies supporter and remember bucks promised to play him forward. The day he went to collingwood he went on and on how excited he was to play for the club he grew up barracking for and his family were rapt. Nothing would have kept him.

In his last couple of seasons with us he played like he didn’t give a Faarque anyway. Would have fitted in nicely in our yesterday’s side. He was a lost cause.

Ok so Adelaide don't want finals, port have started terribly. Hopefully the dogs can get up tomorrow

Well, after enduring (half) a gut-wrenching game last night, had the pleasure of a family outing to the G today. Very impressed with how both sides went about it. Ratten had the Saints clearance machine purring and their ball movement was good too. Carlton’s big men just that bit better, so they got the chocolates.

We were deplorable last night with nothing much to play for, no excuse I know but what is going on with Port? Really struggling to get a score on the board. God help us next week in Hobart!

To be fair, I think he had a man crush on Figgy and the Chins.

Don't worry, we have a new found backman       Mr Spargo. He can play on him.

If teams around the 8 keep losing their could be a team in the 8 with 10 wins and 12 losses!

bombers in the 8 even if they lose both now. Most likely

Crows can find themselves back in 8th if Port keep this rubbish up. They’ve already lost 4%.

Look at the way Nought play for pride...

When did we finish a season like that?

it has been many years.

Two years ago, every conceivable result conspired against us to ensure we missed finals.

This year, every conceivable result has conspired to ensure Essendon make the finals.

[censored] get me the vomit bag.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
