I think this is a mistake. Frost will prove himself to be better than Tomlinson and Tomlinson will struggle just like he has at GWS.

What does getting Tomlinson have anything to do with Frost???

He's making way for Frost. I'd rather sign Frost than pick up an over priced second ruckman.

Versatility is what he brings. I think he’ll be called upon as a key forward or key back.  I think he could actually make a very good CHF with his endurance, strength, marking and he’s a very good kick.

Making way for Tomlinson? They don’t even play the same position?

Unbelievable!!!. How did you come to the conclusion that Frost is going for Tomlinson. You must be in love with Frost! I would like to keep Frost but this is a hard/ruthless game and sometimes players need to go. As far as I am concerned Tomlinson will be a big asset for us.

I'm talking about salary cap. Frost is forced out due to Langdon and Tomlinson. I'd keep Langdon but not Tomlinson.

No. Frost is told to look elsewhere because we don't want him anymore. Capiche?

We have the cap space if we wanted to pay Frost the $$$ he was asking. The money which was going towards Elliott could now be offered to Frost but quite simply he’s asking for overs

Actually, Frost hasn't been told to look elsewhere.  He's been told that if he wants more money that we've offered he will need to find it elsewhere.

Our team just got that little bit better.

No draft picks involved, and not massive coin.

Hasnt played a game for us yet, but im gonna go out on a limb and call it a win in advance.

Welcome to MFC Basil Tomlinson

Welcome aboard Adam, good to have a two way runner on board whose marking will assist with connection in transition and whose back up ruckwork has him as a Pedersen upgrade in terms of endurance

Do you know this for a fact? We don't want him on the list. It's as clear as daylight.

Anyway, I personally think this is a very good pick up. Perfect age at 26 years of old so will hopefully start to see the best of what he has to offer.

A few need to reserve judgement, I remember Jake Melksham copped it worse when we picked him up and he has been a very handy team player for our club.

Another thing no one has mentioned is that he was pick 10 in the 2011 national draft. So it's another 1st rounder that we have added to our list? Besides GWS and GC is this the most of any other team?

Carlton would have to trump us wouldn't they?

You might be correct. We are about to add another, potentially 2 if we split.

No excuses now with the talent on board. Have a good year with injury and I can easily see us climbing up the ladder suddenly again.

Gee fancy a top side like GWS letting  Tomlinson  'struggle'  through 144 games and 4 final series for them?

Melksham is a prime example of why you always need to hold fire in these situations.  We need to allow the players we bring in to fit into our system and play a few games before we tee off on them.  The club will never get it right all the time (no club does), but we need to actually see the bigger picture before we criticise the decision.

Interesting chat on Trade Radio this morning. Tomlinson was saying that it was Goody’s pitch to him that really impressed him when deciding on the Dees as his club of choice amongst the Saints and Dogs (cant wait for all the synics here to claim its 100% about the $$$). Also said he feels his best positions are within the midfield which from where I took it was on-ball, as well as on and center half back. However in an interview yesterday said that the club’s idea was to play him on the wing and in the forward line. Will be intersting to see where he fits in, although I’d like to see him sit in one position to find some stability and only move him if there’s a desperate need to fill a hole on gameday.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
