1. Petracca but ultimately he lost the game with that pathetic set shot in the last.

6. Max "That's ruck craft Big Boy" Gawn - he gives our midfield such an advantage which they continually don't utilise.

5. Jack Viney - his best game in a long time

4. Harry Petty - looked a natural

3. Steve May - love his attack on the ball and the man

2. Christian Salem - one of two Christians to play a very solid game today

1. Christian Petracca - the other one.

not the Trac. Dees even.  Had a easy shot from 25 metres and missed. Dogs reply and went in to win. It was a crucial miss!!

HMs - Petty.  Worked super hard to maintain front position and it payed off.  Hunt & Tracc pretty good also at times in this regard but let themselves down on other occasions.  Tracc's miss at the end costly.  Fritsch's missed handball and insane decision to play on towards the end of the match after marking and kicking around the corner.  Instead of going back, eating up the full clock, then taking a shot, if he misses regardless he allows defenders to rest and re-set out back....both were coach/team killers at crucial stages of a match.  Needs a spell at Casey with some severe constructive one on one coaching that gets this rubbish (among other poor aspects / decision making) out of his game before his next stint at senior level.

6 Viney - He has really lifted since the bye and was back to his best.

5 Petracca - He's been getting more and more physical by the week. More and more like De Goey now.

4 Harmes - Once again didn't stop working, just needs a tad more finesse at times to become a superstar.

3 Jones - I'm loving his move down back and he is now a sure thing to play on. God knows why it took Goody so long to use him in this role.

2 Gawn - Class and a half above Trengove and English, but failed to impact up forward.

1 Petty - Already has more goals than Weed has in any game this season.

Where's Sigmund Freud when you need him.

No votes from me this week as I only saw a few minutes of the game here and there. What I did see, though, was some outstanding tapwork from Gawn.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
