Brayshaw looks stunned. I'm worried about him

Has slowly regressed other than the odd cameo "good" old Gus in minor patches the last few weeks.  'One touch' confidence has dissipated since 2018.  Not that he was ever super quick or quick but seems to have lost a half yard of pace (for Gus) also.

Dees not clean, some players zero confidence!

ANB gone totally backwards this year.

Are Clarry and Gus in the middle at all?

I'm in the forward pocket and Trac gave him a spray for not running up the field when the ball when out of the forward 50 and up the ground.

Love to hear this - especially after his effort late in the Carlton game (granted, he would have been cooked)

Something is up. One of the best midfielders last year, languishing in the forward line....

ANB ughhh... Running at about half his 2018 level and even that was borderline to sub best 22.  Going to be hard to justify keeping him on the list for 2020 i would think other than depth.

Tackling?

How many times does an opposition player get around a ANB and slip past him? Lay, or even attempt to lay, a tackle son.

Overrated apparently. Pressure and tackles win games. No way we can win this if we continue playing how we are.

What an abomination the advantage rule is.....Umpires clearly have no idea WTF it is for.

[censored] me we are rubbish today. No idea anywhere on the ground. So much for the backline being back. They can’t defend a fly.

Holding the man - Bulldogs. How many times are the umpires going to say that today? What about us?

Woeful this quarter

How far did he run ????

Continue to kill ourselves with basic skill errors..

Jetta had to do better there.

Clarry only 2 possessions.

Was on the Bont for a bit of that.  Bont not having much say either so far.  On Dunkley for the start of this quarter.  Lewis to Bont is a huge worry.  Surely Harmes goes to the Bont.

Lewis goes back to replace Jones.  Jones into the middle from here.

Yep, we’re still in the quarter time huddle.

Brayshaw dumped again. Nev beaten on the goal line and they score a goal. Jones walks away then remembers" oh I'm the captain... " And turns around to give him a pat.

Man. The. [censored]. Up.

So easy for them. Free man everywhere with zero pressure.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
