If the longest flag drought will ever be broken 55years!

Not looking forward to watching one of my friends seeing their side win a flag!

Easy fix,ย donโ€™t have any friends!

ย

Looking forward to see if there has been any design changes to the timber ladle since the last one.

Saying goodbyeย ย to quite a few players that havent really helpedย our season this year.

Hore to continue playing well.

No more injuries.

Summer holidays.ย

ย

ย

I'm looking forward to next year but having an off season this year may be a blessing in disguise. ย

Since the week break was between the regular season and finals wasย introduced, at least one of the final fours teams has missed finals the following year (including 2 of the three grand finalists)ย and one of the grand finalists have missed finals the year before. ย

The difference that four or five weeks makes now, means that missing finals can be a real positive for teams that are looking to build towards the next season. ย It means clubs can start their pre-seasons earlier and get their players in for surgery a lot earlier that they otherwise would. ย

A full pre-season for us, getting any surgeries in early, an easier draw and a high draftsย picks (that may be traded) will be a huge positive for us as we have a serious crack at the flag next year.

This year has been a real disappointment, but I'm very optimistic about next year!ย

Port Douglas in August (the same weekend we play the pies - wife andย in laws pies :( and theyโ€™ll be with us )

ย

leishmann or day to win the auld claretย

tour de france

and yibbida yibbida thatโ€™s allย

Stevie G stopping the tims from making it nine in a row.ย

Backline sorting itself out to make us a unit in 2020.

Jayden Hunt being leading goal scorer at the end of the season.

Beating Cartlon

ย

We must win as many games as possible to lead us into next season in a good spot. Also needed if we are to continue increasing membership next year. And finally if players are playing hurt then give them extended rests and have a look as more of the kids to see if they can cut it for next season.

- Win 3 of the next 6 as the backline settles in and forward line regresses to the mean from complete disaster to ok

- Beat the Tigers and Pies to disrupt their run in to finals

- Coast the last 2 weeks to preserve draft position and then dive in to the mock drafts

- Seeing what Lockhart, Baker, Hore can keep doing and maybe adding Dunkley and Chandler to the list of debuts.

- Hopefully adding Hannan and Kolodjashnij to the list of guys we might be able to rely upon in positions of weakness

- Preuss!!! I'm not a believer that he's best 22 but I think he needs a run of games at some stage to preserve Gawn

- Vanders, Jetta, Joel Smith, Tommy Sparrow all back healthy and ready to do a full preseason

I think we had 18 marks inside 50 but couldnโ€™t buy a goal.!!!!!!

Be careful what you wish for. Someone might go and do it, and then you'll want them to do it again. Before you know it you're dependent and could end up on bigfooty.

It's a gateway football act.

All about the development heading into 2020 from here!ย  Want to see some wins, confidence and synergy in the team so we can hit the ground running next season.

- Would love to see Baker getting some more games into him; Baker and Hunt roaming the wings of the MCG could be a dangerous proposition.

- getting some quality game-time into Lever, May, Hibberd, Salem, Hore, Jetta, Lockhart, etc.ย  Let them learn how toย predict and play off each other in the second half of the year so there's no growing pains round 1 2020.ย

- Sparrow and Dunkley starting to get some formย at Casey and start to beat down the door for seniors.

- AVB to make a full recovery and get some games in, before a quick rest and ready to go for day one of pre-season.

- Petracca playing full time in the mid-field with little spells up forward.ย  Let him feel the heat and intensity so he knows how far his endurance needs to improve going into the next pre-season.ย  Want him built like Jobe Watson round 1 2020.

- Weideman is looking like Max Gawn in 2014.ย  He's reading the ball and getting to the right spots, but it's just not sticking.ย  When they start to stick, then we'll have a real player on our hands.

- Brayshaw in the guts.

- Harmes to continue with his current trajectory; he is a gun and one of the most underrated players going round.

- Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney, Harmes with Gawn in the center square - we really shouldn't be losing many clearances.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
