WELCOME TO DEMONLAND KYLE DUNKLEY

Featured Replies

I read an article last week where he was tipped to go at number 1. Son of Sydney Champion, Andrew Dunkley. Welcome Kyle.

Can he kick?

Yes and with both feet. He’s just not accurate.

Hmm...Welcome to Demonland....

Who is this new poster, Kyle?

Whats his profile picture?

Can he go toe to toe with the likes of DV8?

Would he decipher the rambling rantings of Picket Fence?

Could he give Uncle Bitters a metaphoric, linguistic sponge bath?

...so many questions!!!

Assume he's like his brother which would be an inside, tough, accumulator.

Doesn't exactly address our lack of run on the outside or someone who can use the ball.

Either way, guess it's depth and a younger upgrade on Maynard.

Another inside mid....ummmm.....we kind of have that position well covered already!

That said welcome and good luck Kyle

His dad didn't look too happy...very slow and low key in congratulating his son.  Maybe they were hoping he would slip thru to Sydney.

Surely you’d just be happy that your son got selected by an AFL Club and is now living dream?

Of course I would.  Just saying his dad didn't look too excited.

Yeaaa .... his old man, he’s one of us know, when can we start sledging him for his skills?

That half-forward role is pretty much there for the taking...

Good luck to him

What are his foot skills like and has he got any pace???? If not it’s just going down the same recruiting old path.

A very brief highlight package is up on the MFC site. Looks to have good skills and ability around in the contest.

I hate to be that guy but he does look slow in the short bit of footage.

He also plays half-forward and kicked 3 goals on the weekend. Stop the whinging ffs.

Put him on the plane to Alice. That's as good goal kicking form as anyone on the list

looks like the club played it safe taking Dunkley, he looks a solid sort of player. I sort of wish they took a risk though and chose someone with a bit of flair about them. but anyway, hopefully he can kick to a team mates advantage, if he can, I say put him straight in, as not many of our other guys can.

That’s what I was saying sorry, surely his Dad should be looking excited and happy for his son.

Swans made enquires into drafting his as a priority in the mid-season draft but were turned down.

For mine speed and overlap run overwhelming priority for Dees.

Having said that welcome Kyle and you might be in the Dees 22 soon.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
