So, Goody steps up, what does he say:

  • we lacked connection
  • were hurting, we know our supporters are hurting
  • we are gunna keep working
  • its little things
  • we got a week and a half to go back and work on it
  • we are in this together, we are unified
  • they weโ€™re a great team, the tigers.

what do you reckon?

ย

Something about a process and we aren't happy with where we are at etc etc

ย

"we are easy to play against"

"Judge us on our performance... Next week"ย

"I am relishing [censored] taking a team from the prelim to bottom 4 in 7 game, it's a great learning curve"ย

"We will learn from this"ย

"This is not our brand and we need to get better"ย

"We didn't see it coming"

Spot on. ย Same old rubbish. ย What you wonโ€™t here ย

ย - We are lazy

- we cannot take a mark inside 50

- we handball to no one

- we have no grit or hard edge

- we create turnoversย

- we thought it would just happenย

Reckon he will play the injuries card. Itโ€™s due to be played.

For those bitching about Goodwin and his soundbites to questions that are posed to him... I would love to see your own responses to them (seriously, write them down)...because I suspect there is nothing he can say that would appease any of you?ย

I'd hate to be a coach and be under scrutiny publicly week in week out....and having to justify/explain/mansplain reasons for a loss...

Exactly.ย  He plays a straight bat to the media, and so he should.ย  It will always be that way.

The only team we beat last year out of those weโ€™ve played was essendrug. We lostย to swans. Looks like we had an easy draw.

We beat St Kilda.

Can anyone photoshop Neeldy as the driver?

In the words of Allen Iverson โ€œPayย him out earlyโ€!!

I want to thank Demonology for inspiration:

Put relative speed on the wings (not Lewis and Jones).

Jones HB

Lewis hiding as the anchor

Hibbo up the ground.

TMac defence.

Spargo and Wagner out.

I finally found the angle-grinder to get theย magnets off the whiteboard.

Get stuffed

His response...

- we look good until another team takes the field

-scoring has never been a priority

-the new rules heave hurt us, Iโ€™ve been aiming for a rugby style game and this new โ€˜football thingโ€™ has really hurt us

ย

โ€œWeโ€™ll review this incredibly strongly as a club.ย

Weโ€™re hurting as a club. The coach the players and obviously the supporters.

Weโ€™ll continue to work incredibly hard to rectify the areas of our game such as forward connection and defensive running.

Blah blah.โ€

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
